Another Puppy Mill Located In Delmar

"Hi Joe,

I know this has nothing to do with this post, however, this needs to be posted asap. The DFD was dispatched to 8775 Bi-state Blvd today for a odor investigation. I was told while at the residence, they discovered a puppy mill behind the home including over 25+ dogs, 1 goat, and several cats. I am not much into telling on others or trying to be a problem causer. However, all these animals were mostly small dogs and were located outside in the cold and also let it be known there kennels were located in mudd. They were all extremely dirty and in non-livable conditions. I don't want to cause a lot of problems for anyone. But these animals cannot speak for themselves and I was outraged when I heard this story. We all need to pull together and fight against this cause. Please I'm asking you to post a topic on this situation and please attach the closest number of people we can contact in order to report this kind of behavior. Word has it, DFD already took care of that for this specific case. But, please do your own investigation and see for yourself. It will be located behind the residence from what I was told. Thank you so kindly and I hope everyone a Merry and Safe Christmas season."

You may call me 24/7 at 410-430-5349. If anyone knows of anything like this you are welcome to contact me and I will handle it from there. Now, if you'd prefer to contact the Humane Society you can contact Linda Lugo at 410-749-7603. If you can't reach them, again, you're welcome to contact me as I have cell phones in which I can call to take care of it. Let's clean up all these bad situations for these animals.

Joe,
This is another instance where YOU are making a difference. These animals aren't able to speak for themselves.
Let us know what we can do to help.

If any were pugs, I hope that folks will contact Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue. I am sure that they will be glad to help.

Not related, The Delmar fire department took a gift to everyone of the people in our local nursing home last night.

Thanks to the person who alerted sbynews about this situation. You've done something good.

Your welcome, I just couldn't stand by and watch these animals be treated like that. Thanks to all and have a safe holiday. Kudos to Delmar Fire Dept for the kindness.

took a ride by the residence today and didn't see any animals out back today...does anyone know what happened or if they have been rescued?

Anonymous said...

This is exactly what all of us
need to do for animal protection!!
Thanks to this kind person who does not mind getting "involved". All of us need to pull together to help stamp out cruelty. Speak for the ones who do not have a
voice! What a great way to get
the news out there-------ON THIS
SITE!!!!Look how many people you
are able to reach out to for in-
volvement in such a worthwhile
cause.

I, like many, do not agree with
everything I read on Joes blogg,
but that is the great thing about
America---we can all have opinions,
& the right to voice them.

Joe, I think you do so many worth-
while things & this is definately
one of them. Your encouragement
for what is right & getting others
involved to "speak out for the
animals" is to be commended!!

I know ALL animal lovers out there
share the same respect I have for
you & this cause. Thank you and
another big Thank You to the person
who reported the abuse!!

This is NOT a puppy mill!!!!!

well hmmn lets see how many days has it rained? and no nothing happened. The dogs are well cared for ask the animal control... they will tell you!
its people like YOU who have no idea wehat you are talking about!!
Yes the Delmar fire department helped the smell but they hurt the hearts.

Anonymous said...

joe,
its not a puppy mill. sorry to disappoint everyone!!

Anonymous said...

I know these people and they ARE FAR FROM being cruel to any animals. What happens when it rains ?Does the ground stay dry outside?Do you know these dogs have shelter and probably eat better than most people do.Dogs used for breeding or pets is considered a puppymill when they all were found healthy with no puppies or injurys o any kind.If it was so horriable why are the animals still there? If it was so bad wouldnt animal control remove them?By the way would you like your address of your home where you have children posted on the internet or any where else? Before people post false info maybe they should know the real truth!

Anonymous said...

There was no abuse involved! Not shy of people other animals they are well feed no scars marks and all of good weight! This is a situation that was blown up because if it was so horriable the dogs and goat would of been removed.I think this family deserves an apology and there address taken of the internet. If something happens to this family or there house i hope whoever started this will feel real good about themselves. To the fireman who helped with the oil smell Thanks for that but you need to be ashamed of yourself for running your mouth to everyone when the conditions were not bad it did just rain and each dog has a dog house with a roof and bedding inside did you climb in the dog house and check it out yourself?Maybe you should of before you started streatching the actual facts!

Anonymous said...

How can you say Have a Safe and Merry CHristmas when youjust put there address and told everyone to go in the back yard?Well isnt that trespassing if they find someone sneaking around there property? So if you are thinking about going into there yard I would think twice about it.Cause ya never know!

Anonymous said...

They need to get there facts straight! These animals WERE NOT ABUSED! I know for a fact these animals are loved and treated like part of the family. Before anyone starts spreading false info you need to get the facts straight! Posting the address and telling people to trespass is very irresponseable and dangerous and you should be the one getting punished.Would you like your address posted because you never know what will happen.

Anonymous said...

puppy mill or not i hate to see animals abused, uncared for or unloved. If you can't or don't want to take care of them, don't get them, find someone that will.

Anonymous said...

Maybe it would help before you judge call animal control and find out the right information from them. Those animals would of been removed if it was a puppy mill or if there was abue of any kind so if you have a brain in your head a normal person would be asking if it was so bad why do they still have the dogs? Think people .This is why the world is so screwed up because of ignorant people who dont list facts or stretch the info!! I hope those people get an apolgy. They are the ones who are hurting from all of these rumors!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

go ahead go look for yourselves. these animals have human contact all the time they are friendly as ever. and umm what happens when dirt and water mixes. o yeah MUD. you are overreacting and its nothing like you say it is.

joe albero said...

OH NO, NOT SO QUICK!

Many parents have had Social Services called on them because a concerned teacher or another parent was concerned about something or other. It's life. You have to jump through hoops with them and be interviewed to assure the child is OK.

You can believe one thing. I have contacted the Humane Society on this matter, just as I promissed all of you I would. Now, IF there's no problem at this location, cool. However, many horders do NOT believe they have a problem. So, that being said, we'll let them proper people go take a look at this situation and professionally evaluate the environment in order to protect these animals. If these people want to keep coming back all defensive, well, kiss my axx then! We have multiple animals at our home and if someone anted to call in the Humane Society on us, I'd welcome it. If I saw it on a Blog elsewhere, I'd also say, that's fine, we welcome that. We wouldn't want people thinking we'redoing something wrong or that our animals aren't in the best of environments, right? The fact that they're defensive bothers me.

Anonymous said...

Took a ride by the residence today. Saw these animals. They were playing jumping around in good conditions, straw on the ground to cover the mud. Hay in there beds to keep warm and everything. Joe i think you put this way out of proportion. Those were all rumors and I for one can back this up and honestly say that you can't judge a book by its cover. Yes mud on the ground but it has rained the past few days, isn't that what's supposed to happen when dirt and rain come together? I'm sorry to all you readers who are getting all worked up and want to stop this, but there is nothing to stop people. These animals are taken care of. If animal control didn't think this, then wouldn't the animals have been removed? I think you should take this into consideration why does everybody who has a lot of dogs have to be a puppy mill. Can't they have a lot of dogs because they love them. Is it a crime to actually care for the animals because thats what you're making it out to be. These animals are cared for and you're telling everyone the opposite when it's not at all near the truth. Please if you can take the word of Joe why can't you take the word of someone who actually saw this so called "puppy mill". This is ludacris. It's the Holidays Joe. Way to make their Holidays Happy by falsly accusing them of being a "puppy mill" and causing all of this heartache for not only them but the people getting so worked up over this.

I think the defensiveness is coming from there address being posted and people being told to trespass and go into those people backyard and to see for themselves. If you have children at home would you like your address posted and have strangers walking around in your yard? I know they would be getting there axx kicked as you put it if it were done to me.

First of all, people can take my word because my entire name is on the line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

Secondly, it wasn't MY WORD, it was a letter to the editor, just in case you hadn't noticed. Go back and look, it started off with, Joe,.

Why is there anything wrong with someone being concerned and asking for help? IF there's no problem, then why are you so defensive?

I am the owner of the property in Delmar that has been accused of running a "puppy mill" and neglegted or abusing my animals. The Animal Control was here on Saturday only half an hour after the Delmar Fire Department had left. They were very understanding. The agent who had came, a Mr. Lewis stated that I could not help that the pens were muddy because of all the rain we've gotten. He found nothing wrong. The Humaine Society was here this morning at 9:22 am (12-22) they also found nothing wrong. Anyone is welcome to call the Humaine Society and verify it for themselves. As for caring for my animals, I love my animals with all my heart. I'm not angry with anyone. As for our baby goat we have had her since she was 1 hour as she was left with her mother to die because her mother abandoned her. We brought Dolly home and had her since and at this time is now 9 months old. She also thinks she's a dog because she is so spoiled rotten. As for the Delmar Fire Department, I appreciate everything they did when they were here on Saturday. They have always responded very quickly when we have needed them. They've had to transport my husband to the hospital on several occasions and they've always treated us with the upmost respect. Yes if you drive by my home you will see my home needs a lot of repairs. But does not having the funds to have my home repaired make me any less of a good person then someone of more means then I. As I said whomever has done this, I hold no malice for them and you can call the Humaine Society to get the facts for yourself. Thank you and everyone have a blessed holiday.

Why would you such a great person Joe be telling people to trespass on someone elses property? You know that's illegal. If your child was to do this because the internet said too, would you be pleased with them? I highly doubt that you would be. Why would you want to trespass on this persons property? Why not knock on their door and ask them to escort you to see for yorself. Not illegal but still a little offensive, but still getting what you want.

joe albero said...

I did not suggest anyone trespass on their property, Moe.

As you can see by the earlier comment by the owner of the property, everything seems to be up to speed with the pets. It seems the Delmar Fire Department had a concern as well. I'm pleased to hear the Humane Society went out there and checked it out and are satisfied. This is about the animals, so please try to remember that whenever anyone is concerned.

Anonymous said...

But they may have children and grandchildren. And some people can take this too far. Yes I am concerned for the animals because they deserve very good treatment but what if someone deranged* or crazy decides to do something this can be dangerous to both animal and human.

joe albero said...

Moe, let me do something here in the hopes of relaxing you for once.

If you can imagine just how many nut jobs are out there, would you agree that MY address would be the one they would want more than anyone else's?

38024 N. Spring Hill Road. Delmar, De.

Now, if that doesn't cool you off, I don't know what will. It's a matter of public record. I will, (as always) remind anyone and everyone that this is private property with No Trespassing signs posted on the property. Sould someone ignore the fact that they are not welcome without an invitation, I have the right by law to take action. As should any other property owner in America.

I post this information not to invite anyone. I post it because it is a matter of public information. You have been warned.

Now wait just one damn second...to who ever this MOE character is. Ive been out there and I know for a face these dogs who are ur blessed ones and you love with all your heart. Gimme a break, Joe stand your ground, these people have dogs back there that are doxons and out in this mid teens wheather in a wet pin with frozen water. You also have 2 german shepards who are locked up together as well as a mix breed i dont know what kind of dog who is deff neglected because i've seen his ribs. Stop acting so innocent and hurt by this. Get a real job, support your family and stop breeding these dogs. Dog lovers my ass. A scrappy little peice of tarp which is ripped and 12 inch by 12 inch is no sufficient in this weather! Joe this is rediculous, these people cannot turn the tables. If you all were so concerned you would buy them real dog houses and or give them to someone who can take them inside during this weather. This is absolutely rediculous. To the people who finally reported this, good for you and thank you. That home use to be a great one, i know the original owners and they were great people.

joe albero said...

MJ,

The professionals from the Humane Society have been out to the property and have stated the environment is proper. Now, you may not like it and perhaps I might not either if I saw it myself, I have not.

That being said, you have the right to your opinion but know they have been backed and supported by the Humane Society.

I will add. Some f us love animals better than others. I can tell you that ALL of our animals are indoors during temperatures like today, with exception of our Horses. Different kind of love. Will they survive outdoors, perhaps. But if you think I'd let my Yorkies outside for more than 2 or 3 minutes on a day like today, well, that's just crazy.

Anonymous said...

As far as dog houses there are igloos or wooden ones with dog beding. The two german shepherds were taken out that day because of the oil fumes in the house, unless you wanted them to stay in there and die. And as far as rib showing dogs that is not true whatsoever those dogs are fed and watered on a daily basis. The 'dachshunds'(correct spelling) are not in a wet pen they are in a pen with a wooden platform. They do not have a dirt pen. Way to get your facts straight. And try spell check. =)

Who the heck do you believe in
this situation. I've known the
H.S. to approve some rather
deplorable living conditions for
animals. All bedding should be
dry, if it is freezing they should
be brought inside. Their living
environment should be safe & free
of fecal pile up. Get on line &
look under your MD State laws for
animals. If the H. Society let
them stay, & the owners are dis-
regarding the MD Laws, then go
after the Humane Society for not
doing their job. In this case, I
wouldn't know who to believe unless
I saw it myself. Anyone to keep
a dog outside in this dam cold
after its been raining, should be
tied out themselves. Perhaps this
involves more investigation by
other then the H. S.!!!

Anonymous said...

I agree. You think its so livable out there, let me tie your ass up outside and see how you like it.

Anonymous said...

Dachshunds or black birds, i don't care how you spell it lady, its still wrong...you are wrong the h.s. is wrong. I wasn't gonna comment on this post but no matter how u spell it, if those little dogs are out today. you should be ashamed of yourself.

anonymous 9:05,

If you're talking about me, BRING IT ON. I would suggest before you speak to an attorney you find out who started this in the first place. The Delmar Fire Department was lagitimate concern for these animals and as it is currently 25 degrees outside tonight, (we're not in Floriday, like you) every animal, dog or cat, should be indoors, period.

If this person was as wonderful as you claim, (and I'm not suggesting they're not) they too would bring these animals in. The way you explain this person as such a Saint, why are these animals outdoors in such cold weather?

Anyhow, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. If you ever come back here and write in all capitol letters again, your comment will not be posted. Lady, you don't scare me one bit. Go act like a tough guy somewhere else or have your attorney contact mine. Just be prepared for the counter lawsuit.

lol get her joe, she can't sue u for something a citizen said. plus if you read, i think at the beginning they are saying a friend of the dfd told them. this previous post said that the person was part of dfd...so actually she couldn't sue for breech of any duty lol the person who made the original post if not lying isn't even part of the fire dept. plus i agree, to whoever you are...if your animals are out in this cold mess no matter big or small, u should indeed give them to people who will take them inside...just a thought

Lets see....

1) Do you have small dogs?
2) Are they outside?
3) Are there dachshunds outback your house?
4) Do you breed dogs?
5) Are you stupid?

5 simple questions will wrap this story right up won't it

Anonymous said...

I agree with Donna 100%. Those animals outside probably have a better living condition then the woman inside. She devotes herself to these animals. She loves them with all her heart and would never do anything uncaring, abusive, or neglectful to these animals. And if you really want to keep hurting this woman your only adding to the loss of her two sons in their teens, her disabled husband who she cares for every day, and her niece who is a bratty teenager. I know this because I am this bratty teenager damnit. Stop slandering my aunt. Stop hurting her like this. This is not a puppy mill. We know every single dog by name and who and where they came from. She has all their records and feeds them and waters them daily. If you only knew how big her heart was and what she's really doing (helping these animals) then you wouldn't be doing this. How can you do this especially during the christmas holiday. Isn't this supposed to be a cherised and giving time. Well it's very ignorant to give heartache and false information. Do you honestly know what physcopaths are out there? Do you know who's going to come to this house because you said to? What if you're endangering us? What if our house gets damaged by some crazy person who took this too far? How would you feel about yourself? Yes lets endanger a 16 year old child and two older citizens who have never ever done anything wrong and who have never ever harmed anybody or anything. And for the person who said they knew the original owners who was such a "great" person. If they were so great why had they piled boxes to the cielings so we couldn't see they were leaking. Why did he tell us their was a well on this property then when it went dry we found out it was under another property. Yes such a great man, if this is what you consider great then what you consider bad must be amazing. And you think this woman is bad but she's not she is AMAZING. If you only knew the truth....

How can you get animal control to take action?? Any suggestions? I pass by a dog every day at 311 Marshall Street that is severly mistreated, to say the least. It is kept on a 1 1/2 foot long chain, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week... outside regardless of the weather. On a good day, it gets water and maybe, on a real good day, food. Animal control has been called a number of times, but the dog remains there. It was 16 degrees this morning! So cruel!

Anonymous said...

Just read the comment on the dog
tied out at 311 marshall st. 1 1/2
ft of chain means this dog is
walking in its own fecal matter &
urine!!!. Call the cops or the
Humane Society & ask them if this
is not cruel & inhumane treatment?
Get them to show you the Laws they
are suppose to follow for the State
& County. This is just terrible--
Somebody out here get that dog some
help!!! If they won't help ,then
tie them out there & see how they
interput the law after that!!!!

Anonymous said...

First off all!! You need to get your facts straight before you talk about anyone. And put ur busniess where it does not belong. You just need to mind your business!
Those dogs are very well taking care of! Have you ever heard of a little thing called RAIN! thats why there was mud. those dogs are feed, bathed, and well takin care of on a daily basis.
So i suggest you go get the facts straight before you go bad mouthing a situation you kno absolutly nothing about!!

Maria, aren't you in Florida?

Aren't you doing the exact same thing you are accusing others of doing?

If you are in Florida, how would you know what the environment is like on that property?

Now, as cold as it's been lately, there's no more mud, it's frozen ground. It's been in the 20's outside, not very nice on animals, period.

If they bring them indoors, then I'll believe they love and care for these animals. If she doesn't bring them in, ALL of your talk and her talk is a boat load of crap.

If YOU don't like this Blog, don't come back.

I can't believe how ridiculous this is. People on here are arguing over the living conditions. The Humaine Society and Animal Control found nothing wrong. Shouldn't that stand for something? You all who are arguing saying its horrible have you even seen this place or just going along with the rumors that are being put on here? I'm not going to say its not nor it is but I just think you shouldn't argue over this based on rumors. Use the facts and prove it.

hey toby, or moe whatever you want to call yourself since your probably the same person. i have seen the living conditions and they are absolutely terrible. a peice of ripped tarp which wouldn't be enough to wipe my ass with is not enough coverage for dogs. get off your lazy behind and u go look. 5 simple questions was a success.

1. small dogs....about 20 of them
2. adequate bedding, hell no. wet straw and mudd
3. outside-yes
4. moron moe and smart ass neice-inside all warm and cozy.
5. freezing small dogs laying around in ice and really nappy fur.

Yea they are still outside. Humane Society will take them in and find them a warm bed. Do the right thing.

FYI: I am not certain when in January the new dog laws go into effect, but the dog on the 1 1/2 ft. chain will be NO MORE. The new law says it must be 15' long and positioned so it will not get tangled in anything. Also, NO dog can be left on an outside tie with any type of choker collar.

I don't care how sad someone's personal story is, or how much they profess to love animals, when they are living in unacceptable circumstances they should be removed. I'm happy that this owner has so many people willing to go onto the blog and defend her, and make excuses as to why she's got so many pets who live outside in extreme cold. Maybe they can spend some of their energies helping her get her house fixed or assist her with her disabled husband. NOBODY needs that many dogs, period. It's not possible for an elderly person to adequately tend to that many pets, even without her other burdens.
