Another One Bites The Dust

Weijia Jiang is leaving WBOC today. Weijia has taken a position with WJZ TV in Baltimore. It's always nice to hear good reporters are going off to bigger and better places. Best of luck to you Weijia and thanks for being a part of our lives every day.

She was the best reporter they had--I would not be surprised to see her on the national news not too long from now!

WJZ is where Oprah got her start

BOC is nothing more than a stepping stone for bigger markets. What happened to local boy Paul Butler. I hear he's gone. Him and his brother Brian are classy guys.

In regards to the "come heres" remark -- keep in mind, most media people move around a lot, especially in their first couple of years. The Eastern Shore is usually a starting point. But it's a great place to start -- and for some, to stay! But most of your on-air people are come heres, and, as shown, leave heres.

There's an industry trend of moving towards hiring younger (read: chearper) employees; so don't expect Weija and Danya to be the last to leave. Best of luck to them both - and I hope the stations make good hires to keep the viewers (and bloggers) of Salisbury informed.

Although we don't hear you chime in all that often, it's nice to know the "Who's Who" are still popping into Salisbury News to see what's going on in Salisbury. Nice to hear from you again Rebecca.

They've lost Nadia, then Danya, now Weijia...

All good. Sad to see them go, but best of luck to them!

Weija, cares about the stories and does an awesome job! She did a lot for the Shore!

I personally was never impressed with her. She stumbled alot of her words and seemed inexperienced.

I cannot stand her accent and voice! I literally have to change the channel when she is on now because her annoying traits overwhelm whatever story she is reporting. In all my years of watching asian people in the news media she is the worst, I'm asian myself so I tend to pay attention to these things.

You hit the nail right on the head! Now the CBS White House correspondent!
