This is the first of 2 games tonight between Hagerstown and Delmarva. The 2nd game starts 30 min after the first game. Both games are 7 innings! Thanks to Subside Deli for the great food. It's much appreciated up here in the press box!
Late due to traffic, but I was welcomed to a pleasant surprise, The Birds are up 4-0 after the 1st inning...
Top of the 2nd - John Mariotti got out of the inning with men on 1st and third with a strikeout and an obstruction out; the base hit struck the runner. Still 4-0.
Bottom of the 2nd - David Cash 1 out single. Nowicki singled, Cash to 2nd. Mahoney ground out, Cash Nowicki advanced to 2nd and 3rd. Tyler Henson line out to right to end the inning. Still
4-0 Birds.
Top of the 3rd - Mariotti gets two Suns to ground out and racks up another K. Still 4-0.
Bottom of the 3rd - Matt Tucker gets a lead off single. Pope grounds into a fielders choice and Tucker is out at 2nd. Wally Crancer grounds into a double play to end the inning. Still 4-0 Birds.
Top of the 4th - Mariotti gets another 1-2-3 inning! Still 4-0 Shorebirds!
Bottom of the 4th - Cash stand up 2 out double. Nowicki grounds out to end the inning. Still 4-0 Birds.
Top of the 5th - Pahuta 1 out walk. Souza grounds out into a double play to end the inning. Birds still up 4-0.

Final Score 6-2 Delmarva. Delmarva put up 15 hits to Hagerstown's 5. Mariotti earns the win!
