The Daily Times New Deadline Isn't Working

Last night was a perfect example of how their new deadline just won't cut it. It gets even worse. Pretty soon they'll be completely out of their old building and located in the new building, 10 minutes away. No longer will they enjoy walking over to the GOB.

I have to tell you though Folks, I'm glad everyone took the time to watch the meeting to the very end. The fireworks were even more spectacular last night than any Shorebirds Game! Tim Spies rocked their world with the TIF questions. Judy Dzimiera shocked everyone with the Captain Investment information. My own questions/statements had to shake the Council up with accountability. The Citizens are fighting back and The Daily Times refuses to cover it!

Once again we're hearing of visitors here cancelling their subscriptions and the Daily Times has to be failing. I'm sure they're thinking this is just a growing pain but they're wrong. They made a huge mistake spending $3,000,000.00 on this new Press and sinking themselves even deeper into debt on something going out of style as fast as an old Photo Stat Camera that quickly became worth more money as scrap metal than a useful piece of equipment.

It is what it is but all I can tell you is, it's no longer worth buying the Daily Times unless you need obituaries, comics and or want ads.

even the comics suck... they may amuse a 60 yr old but not someone in their late 20's.

i notice ever since they got the new printing press the newspaper is never out like it was before after midnight. I would buy it while grocery shopping at wal mart or if i went to get a sub at wa wa. no more we tried even at 3 am to get a paper no luck.

They called and asked me why I was canceling. I told the girl that it was about 20% service and paper condition and 80% content. Good bye Daily Times.

Thank goodness for that PAC-14 coverage of the Council meetings and this blog.

If you want comics, you can have them online:

Go Comics.com is one site.

Click here for the site for Arlo and Janis, which also includes an interactive blog with the author, Jimmy Johnson. He showcases vintage strips on a daily basis.

United Media's online comics can be seen here.

And then, there is the Daily Ink site which contains all the King Features comics, in full color even for the daily strips! Subscription only, but well worth it. Much less than the daily rag charges.

Finally, many comics can be read online at Yahoo! news site just by clicking on your favorite on the list.

What's left at the TIMES in terms of its historical staff is a man with pedophilic tendencies much of his work part about the history of DMV but he has his OWN with a long rich history of photographing boys 2-18 years of age and calling it historical research. Parents take note if a Times editor and photog hang around your boys
