Oland is CHIEF financial advisor to the whole City administration and Council! And she has over $10million off the books? A phrase comes to mind "cook the books".
Remember she's Barrie's gal--chosen, position created for her, etc., etc. One little problem, she had absolutely no accounting experience regarding municipalities. And it's clear now after two years of errors, she is not a quick learner on it.
Oland must resign.
Oland is really stupid if she is letting her professional reputation go down with Barrie.
Remember, Ms. Oland, from now on and for your entire career, when someone Googles your name, guess what is going to pop up. Check it now and see what is on the Worldwide Web.
Cut your losses and resign.
Having a bachelors degree in economics fro the U. of Pa. (or even Harvard for that matter) doe not qualify someone to run a city finance office. Oland is all the evidence needed to prove that point.

She worked for Arthur Anderson? Isn't that the crooked accounting firm aligned with the Enron Corp?
Employers should expect competence on the part of their employees. Ms. Oland is employed, not by Ms. Tilghman, but by the people of Salisbury. Are the people satisfied with this level of performance? If this level of ineptitude is acceptable, what would a financial advisor have to do to merit dismissal?
Hey, if Oland is the CHIEF financial advisor to the whole daggone City, maybe she advised the mall guys to hold their own TIF bonds--the press release says she has experience in investments and that sure is a great investment for the mall guys!
Oland must resign.

TILGHMAN SHOULD RESIGN.

Enough is enough of Barrie, LouWeasle, Pick, Oland, Gary, Shanie.
They are taken all dignity from this City.
How do you expect Shanie (house now in foreclosure), Gary (filed bankruptcy) and LouWeasle who doesn't appear to even know what an audit is to understand that $11million is a very big deal to we citizens upon whom they slapped a huge tax increase last year.
They better know that this is HUGE for us, and all of Pick's attempts to downplay this on Barrie's behalf is wasted effort.
