Is Prettyman A Party Animal, Or What?

Wicomico County Council Woman Stevie Prettyman Rocked the Council's World this morning when she reached under the conference table during a LIVE PAC 14 Meeting and pulled out three 6 packs of beer to every one's amazement!

So just what was Councilwoman Prettyman's reason for doing so? Because the Wicomico County Liquor Board Dispensary ONCE AGAIN has broken its agreement with the County and Stevie stated she had just purchased this liquor/beer in one of the Wicomico County Dispensaries.

The County made a formal agreement, (Oct. 14, 2004) with them NOT to sell beer and compete with Convenience Stores and once again Ron Alessi has his hands decision making PROVING, (to me anyway) that the County AND City need to have TERM LIMITS on those people serving on these different Boards. Alessi & Co. flat out took it upon themselves to break that agreement WITHOUT permission and they started once again purchasing beer and selling it to compete with hundreds of Convenience Stores.

County Executive Rick Pollitt, (IMO) was NOT happy! As a mater of fact, he stated that the County was now going to look into whether or not they should even be in that business any more. Looks, (to me) like Alessi screwed up yet once again and I can assure you, Stevie Prettyman was NOT happy. As a matter of fact, most of the Council Members were quite ticked off as their constituents called and raised hell about it throughout the County.

It's time for change Ladies & Gentlemen and I think the County Council is finally about to start acting like a Legislative Branch and start making some new rules. Great work Stevie!

Now, can I have my beer please?

Where I grew up beer, wine, and liquer were sold at what called liquer stores. That is PG county.
In this county if you want a 6 pack and a bottle of Jack you have to go to two different stores. Guess not any more if the county is selling beer. I have no problem with that as long as their prices are low.

Please don't tell me Alessi has anything to do with the County liquor system.

That man's like bad breath -- won't go away.

I worked there for 6 years and they have always sold malt beverages like Smirnoff Ice, Mike's Hard Lemonade, Jack daniels coolers etc., that is nothing but a beer in disguise. Way to go Stevie~!!

I wrote a letter to the editor when I worked there in favor of dismantling the crooked entity. They had my manager come to me and ask me not to write anymore letters to the editor... and I told the A-Holes to put that in writing!

The same government that throws you in jail for drinking, shouldn't be selling the stuff, plain and simple.

You're on a roll today Joe, keep up the good work!

"They" being the board of directors.

I ate a plenty of meals on your generous contributions from purchasing your liquor from the county. When in Rome, be a pig too!

Breakfast buffets at the Ramada, lunches at Brew River, only the best on your dime. Do yourself a favor, buy your cigarettes and liquor in Delaware.

There goes Stevie grandstanding again. She will do anything to get her picture in the paper. Didn't she say she believed in term limits?? She said no one should serve more than two terms. Stevie!! Isn't this your third term? What is it that you have against the liquor control board? Do you have friends that are in the business that want to tap into liquor sales?? Come on now you have been attacking them for years now.

Hitman, get a life you old drunk. I thought they got rid of you when they shut KHI down.

I have to admit, she did look hot in those days.

Bars, restaurants and the only private liquor store in the county (Pecan Square) are forced to buy their liquor products from the county because that is their only legal source to purchase the product.

So again, with a private liquor store they are in competition with the county but aren't afforded the same low prices. Just what Rick Pollitt said shouldn't be.

They should get the wholesale prices that the big liquor companies give to the dispensaries.

I will also add that those restaurants, bars and one private liquor store make up almost 50% of the business that goes out of the three county stores combined.

However, all of the sales to restaurants and bars go out of the location at Giant. The restaurant and bar customers have to pick their product up themselves. There are no deliveries.
