Grandad Replies To The Overkill Posts

"All people, good or bad, have rights. They need to get lawyers and INTERNAL AFFAIRS involved.Things will get better QUICK."

Spoken like a true bleeding heart. Yes all people have rights. The law enforcement officers are professionals. They know how to work within the system to ferret out crime and still maintain the integrity of the Constitution. You have no idea of the circumstances of this stop. If the dog was called and arrived before the license check was completed, this has been determined by the SCOTUS to be reasonable. Maybe the officers observed what they determined to be criminal indicators which led to enough articulable suspicion to justify prolonging the stop under "Terry". Whatever the circumstances, once the dog alerted the Carrol Doctrine provides an exception to the warrant requirement and allows the officers to conduct an immediate and thorough search of the vehicle and it's occupants. You simply don't have enough information to critisize the stop or even make an educated guess as to what transpired during the traffic stop in question.

So if the occupants of the vehicle did secure the services of an attorney, they probably would have paid him/her a sizeable fee to find out the officers acted reasonably and lawfully. If internal affairs had responded and conducted an internal investigation into alleged 4th amendment and due process violations, the result would 99.999% of the time
reveal that the officers acted within the parameters of the Constitution would be rightfully exonerated of any wrongdoing.

If these officers continue to behave in this manner, and others follow thier lead - things will get better real quick!

Take no sh*t
and cut no slack
cuff'em and stuff'em
and don't look back!

Good Job Y'all!

NO THATS YOUR WAY OF DOING THINGS, IF SOMETHING DOESN'T GO YOUR WAY, CALL THE POLICE AND CRY...HAVE A GOOD DAY AND KEEP BEING BABIES

screw it I agree completely with the author of this orignal comment

Sorry...I spelled "criticize" wrong.

What the hell do you mean that's my way of doing things. It's the rule of law. That's how our country works. Would you rather we just let people sell dope? I want a better world for my kids and grandson. The police are the only ones who have the authority to arrest drug dealers and bring them before the courts for adjudication. Can you imagine the anarchy that would result if everyone felt like you and just ignored people who sell dope. As a matter of fact, the neighborhoods where open air drug markets exist are neighborhoods that turn thier backs and just let it happen. Would you like to live there? You must be a friggin' moron. You must also be John Robinson because you use all capital letters when you get pissy.

ROTFLMAO! Leave it up to a Cop to easily figure out Robinson's partial traits! Careful Grandad, John's also a Cop Expert. He's done it all and knows it all. Oh, he also claimed he was in the Coast Guard too. Drug Enforcement to boot.

Then how you describe John Robinson, Joe you must be his twin brother. Remember you are the accident investagtor, crime scene tech, Martin Luther King himself!

I knew right away we were dealing with a professional. After all, this guy has a point! We can take his advice and stop the conflict between the good guys and the bad guys over control of our neighborhoods by just rolling over and giving the neighborhoods to the the bad guys. No more conflict. No more calling the police like the babies he accuses us of being. Can you believe he actually said that?

Just when I thought I had seen the highest level of stupidity the human race has to offer, this guy opens his mouth and proves me wrong. Will the wonders never cease?

Now I know you're really cracking up at that one Granddad!!!!!

joe albero said...

Yep, that would be the beloved JR!

Bob said...

Joe! You're really MLK. Damn...I knew he was still around!

joe albero said...

Careful Granddad, JR might go out and spend $1,200.00 on attorneys just to find out who you are!

Then he'll go blasting you on his Blog and his new Radio Show, Television Show and Print Newspaper, soon to be out, soon!

Ya know what brother? I gotta say this. I read a comment somewhere on one of your posts by one of the almighty anonymous posters which criticized the Sheriff's Deputies for showing up and taking the arrest because the warrant was held by the WCSO. That's been that way for years and years. The officer gets a stat for "assist other agency". He doesnt want to be tied up serving a warrant for another agency and then have to do an arrest report, etc., when he can hand him off to someone else.

The person seems to be trying to stir up sh*t between the officers and the deputies. One thing that person fails to understand. Regardless of the differences in opinion between the agency heads, the road guys/girls are brothers in the badge. They may get ad at one another from time to time as any brothers will. But when the sh*t hits the fan anyone of these men/women will lay down thier lives to save another regardless of the uniform they wear. Whoever the person was that wrote that should be ashamed of him/herself if they are a LEO. You should be promoting brotherhood between all allied agencies. Your agency heads may have thier own problems but you all are out there where the rubber meets the road. You will one day need to depend on one another. Don't let administrative BS cloud your focus.

Well said granddad!
There were alot of circumstances surrounding why the dogs were called.
Joe, refering back to the earlier post about this particular stop....You are a smart man and I am sure you already know this...those guys were totally yanking your chain when they were whining about not knowing why they were being searched and never being involved with drugs before!! That gave me a good laugh!!

joe albero said...

You're right, I am a smart man. LOL

I said.....

"Both organizations are fine organizations. One is just run better than the other and their leadership will never be matched, that's just a fact and everyone knows it.

The Officers need to be respected, period and this crap should end. If it doesn't, the leader in the SPD will get exactly what he wants, a divided brotherhood/partnership. Now do ALL of you want to be that stupid and fall for that crap? Think about that one for a while."

Bob said...

Just looked at that post and all of the comments......that's the one I was looking at that prompted my comment. You're right. They need to stick together. When I comment on things and they are not favorable to "Chiefy" it is in no way a reflection on how I feel toward the hard working men and women on the street. Let me tell you EXACTLY how I feel about them. The men and women on the road are THE source of information for CBI and the Task Force. Without the informants developed by road patrol, nothing else happens. Patrol officers and deputies are the backbone of thier respective agencies. The arrests they make often lead to the development of information which leads to major drug arrests and closes cases such as burglaries, etc. The experience these LEO's gain as they do thier jobs day to day cannot be underestimated. They are some of the finest people I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Remember this. It's not the fact that they are good at thier jobs that make them good people....it's the fact that they are good people that allow them to be good at thier jobs.

After all is said and done, justice is going to be served. Whether it's in a backwards Jim Crow town, or a civilized updated city. Right is right, wrong is wrong. It's sad when the shoe is on the other foot, and it's serious when its on your own or someone close to you!

Since when is it ok for brothers to destroy each others families?
Then lie, then get away with it?
Joe doesn't agree with this.
He only throws it back in the victims face. There is hardly a brotherhood anymore.
Next time I hear from another deputy "Thanks for the stat" when I hand over an arrest I will think of you. And an arrest report still has to be done. Even if on- view charges are involved the warranting agency still wont fax the warrant to serve, they will tie up one of thier officers to go to the jail to serve it.
Even a few years ago they would fax over a warrant to an outside agency to serve. Since the the last 2 years. never. Why? anyone can figure that out. Especially when the number of arrests are compiled yearly by the agency.
Stats, stats.
-Only ashamed for not filing charges because of all hopes for a true brotherhood.
