I couldn't agree with you more. I've said in the past that John Pick had to have told Barrie NOT to go public with the Blogs and since she's a control freak she went full steam ahead and look what it brought her.
It is the Mayor's job to pull the community together and everyone seems to forget just what's happened in the last year or so. The Fireworks were canceled, they turned off the lights last year, she changes the Christmas Parade location because "she" didn't want it where it has been for MANY years. Its no wonder no one waved to her or paid any attention. I'll give Lynn Cathcart credit, at least she sat up on the back seat and waved to everyone while Comegys and Tilghman slumped in their seats.
Then there's the WWTP! Rather than admitting they were breaking the law, Barrie is spending SERIOUS taxpayers dollars on trying to get relief on a $25,000.00 fine. Don't think I'm not going to investigate the bill Wilber and the other Firm from Virginia that they hired will charge the City to lower that fine!
Denying they did anything wrong clearly shows the intent of cover ups this Mayor has caused and it also shows just how she'll run this City. Even if it means illegally.
The Blogs are the ones that have exposed these wrongs and it's no wonder why they can't stand us.
Let's all think of it like this. IF Debbie Campbell were Mayor, do ANY of you think she would have handled these situations the same way? Can I get a, HELL NO!
If we continue allowing the Council to run away with developer reimbursements and TIFF's, do you think "anyone" with any quality will want to run, knowing just how big a mess the Council and Mayor have left things? A change needs to be made right away before things get any worse. We've got a new County Council and believe me, things are going to change. You need to change the City Council too.
