The Last Place Anyone Would Want To Work!


If you like discrimination against woman, go to work here!

One employee who worked for the Bank of Willards who is 8 months pregnant was recently fired for an incident that happened 8 months earlier that she didn't even get written up for and the problem, (human error) was immediately corrected. In order to get rid of her they used this as an excuse to let her go. No more health insurance, nothing! What a nice place to work!

Another woman was interviewing for a job there and she already had children and they asked, are you going to have any more children? Why? Because if you are, we're not going to hire you.

I was also told about a woman who has Lymes Disease as well as her child. They have to travel all the way to PA. to get treatments and she was recently told she may no longer use sick days to take off work, she must use her vacation time instead or she'll be terminated.

The entire Staff, (females) were recently told that if their child got sick at School after 9:00 a.m., they were NOT allowed to leave and get them. It would be up to their husbands to do so or they'd lose their jobs. Not only does the Bank of Willards pay their people next to nothing, they suck as an employer and one can only hope the group of them get together and create a Class Action Lawsuit against these people for discrimination.

It seems that since the President of the Bank is a former Attorney, everyone is scared to death of this guy. I say, sue the crap out of him and make him eat his own words!

He's a great Investment Broker and he'd be honored to set you up with the right person to fill your needs. Why do I get the feeling a lot of women are going to switch Banks right away?

Wow Joe,
Do you actually believe all this? HR departments in Companies are way too smart to be that obvious and Libel. Bet you won't find any of this in their policys or E-mail communications.

Labor Unions,
Geeeeeez all they've accomplished since the sweat shops of the 20's is take money out of poor peoples wallets, force all of us to pay inflated prices and if thats not enough they are the biggest contributor to jobs going over seas because Companies can't compete and pay a high school drop out $35 an hour to sweep floors in a automobile factory! Ohhh but they have help line the pockets of lawyers and politicians. that's right they do serve some purpose!
Get Real.
UNIONS SUCK.

I do not have first hand knowledge on this matter. If I did I'd have to be a woman and I'd have to have been working at the Bank of Willards.

I have heard from numerous people that Tom is in fact a very nice guy. Again, second hand information.

A lot of comments have NOT been removed by me lately. Two comments, (IMO) is NOT a lot of comments. However, if you're going to go on a personal attack here and attempt to slander someone each and every time you come here I'm going to remove your comment.

You mention Tom being a lawyer and he would or should know better. First of all, when you're getting paid next to nothing, (which tells me the kind of human being this man actually is) you live paycheck to paycheck and could never dream of fighting such a person. Secondly, most feel it wouldn't cost him anything to represent himself, yet it would cost everything they own to go after them for breaking laws.

The fact remains, the Bank of Willards doesn't pay squat in salaries and most recently have changed their tune as to the respect they give to their employees.

I have personally met Tom and I knew his Father. In my business transactions with these people I have found them to be honorable and fair. I'm not saying the Bank should close up shop and go away. I'm simply pointing out that they need to respect their Staff.

You're exactly right, it is Chris. I don't know what I was thinking at the time.

As for the pay scale, it's an absolute joke. LOYALTY is the reason these people stick around and when one of them gets fired I'd think every one of them left is upset even more than you can imagine. They give back and sacrifice day in and day out to make this business supposedly a better place to do business with and in the end they're worried about what will come tomorrow.

The Bank of Willards is NOT a success without its Professional Staff! People are NOT banking there strictly because of Chris! They are banking there because their extremely low paid employees give the Customer what they deserve, good service.

A Bank is a team Editor, like it or not. Most businesses are but when you have Staff handling hundreds of thousands of dollars a day, cash in hand regularly, these are not people easily replaced. These are very trustworthy people and IMO I think Chris is gaining some paranoia lately and needs to remember where he came from. Then again, once fed with a silver spoon?

I have enjoyed this debate with you editor, thank you.

I'm not so sure there haven't been some personal attacks on here, (me excluded of course, LOL).

Nonetheless, it's informational, (the Blogs) and creates some accountability in which the Daily Times seems to ignore.

The Bank of Willards is not a bad place to do business. It just needs to be a better run business. Lawyers don't know JACK about running a business and it is a proven fact that they suck as investors, (for the most part). So going from a Lawyer and changing your carreer to become a Banker, well, that should say it all. Chris could very likely be a great man but as history would show, Lawyers don't belong in the Investment business.

Please forgive me for what I'm about to say but think back in local history and how many lawyers have taken their own lives because of their financial situation? I rest my case.

Oh, there should also be a very good reason as to why Chris chose to leave law. Maybe he wasn't doing well in this profession?
