Conservative Turned Down By Photographer But Says It’s Ok
Alan Sears doesn’t know what it’s like to be refused service for being gay, but he does know what it’s like to be refused service for being a conservative.
Six months ago, a Southern California photographer turned him down flat when he asked her to take a Christmas card photo of his family, explaining in an email, “I oppose the goals and objectives of your organization and have no interest in working on its behalf.”
That was fine with Mr. Sears, CEO and general counsel of the conservative Alliance Defending Freedom, who is leading the legal battle on behalf of photographers, florists, cake decorators and others sued for refusing to create products for same-sex weddings.

Economist Phelps: US Is 'Out Of Ammunition' To Fight Stagnation
While some experts see signs that the economy is improving, Nobel laureate economist Edmund Phelps of Columbia University isn't quite so optimistic.
"It's surprising when people suddenly are talking about stagnation when we've been in stagnation since 1972," he tells CNBC.
"Governments have thrown all sorts of ammunition at it including concocting the housing boom. We are kind of out of that ammunition, and we have to dig deeper if we are going to get out of this rut," Phelps notes.

Federal prosecutors announced the charges Thursday against Dinesh D’Souza, who made the anti-Obama documentary “2016: Obama’s America.” They say he’ll be arraigned Friday on charges he directed $20,000 in illegal contributions to be made in the New York Senate race in 2012. The funds allegedly headed to the Wendy Long campaign, who unsuccessfully ran for Hillary Clinton’s U.S. Senate seat.
D’Souza found out he was being investigated by the feds in the mid-2013, months after his anti-Obama documentary earned roughly $33 million at the box office, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film went on to become the second most popular political documentary in U.S. history.

Experts: Feds Don't Have Strong Case Against McDonnell
Legal experts are predicting that prosecutors could have a hard time proving that former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife have committed any crime.
They tell The Washington Post the government may not be able to show beyond a reasonable doubt that the McDonnells agreed to help Richmond businessman Jonnie Williams, in exchange for $165,000 in cash and gifts.
"The whole case is going to boil down to proving the quid pro quo," Randall Eliason, a George Washington University law professor and expert on public corruption, told the newspaper.
"They can't just show that he got these gifts, but most prove that he received them in exchange for official acts. The defense is going to say, 'Hey, this is what a Virginia governor is supposed to do — promote Virginia businesses," he explained.

Although his execution was originally scheduled for 6pm Texas time Wednesday evening, an Obama-appointed judge senselessly threw the case up to the U.S. Supreme Court to review his absurd “appeals” (based solely on the “consular” nonsense — Tamayo has never denied his guilt).
Finally at 9pm EST, the Supreme Court denied his appeals, 6-3, and the execution was on. At 9:32 Tamayo was finally put down.

Charles Krauthammer predicted Wednesday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" that "all hell's going to break loose" if the administration can't fix the problems with the Healthcare.gov website by mid-March.
"Right now the insurers are guessing at the subsidy, so all of this is on the honor system and it can be wildly off," Krauthammer, a syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor said. "If they undershoot, the insurers are going to go bust. If they overshoot, the government is going to be stuck with a huge bill."
Krauthammer said it is clear "no one knows what's going on" as communication between the administration and insurance companies suffers due to the faulty ObamaCare sign-up website.
