Chicago homicide total expected to reach 600

Chicago is expected to see more than 600 homicides this year. This is the second time the nation's third largest city will reach the milestone since 2003.

As of this past weekend, the 'Second City's' homicide total stands at 593, the Chicago Tribune reports. This weekend saw five fatal shootings.

The Chicago Police Department has a different total, 581, because it does not include homicides committed on expressways or by police officers determined to have been justified in their use of force.

The news comes after US President Donald Trump made comments early in his presidency painting Chicago as a 'war zone'.

What I Learned at the Racial Justice indoctrination Camp

Several months ago the president of Loyola University Maryland, Brian Linnane, announced to the faculty that he had been thinking a lot about the Baltimore riots that took place two years earlier. (The riots, you may recall, were a response to the death of a local black drug gangster while in a police van after he had been arrested. All of the police involved, most of whom were black, were eventually acquitted at trial. The rioters looted the CVS pharmacies in town, emptying them of oxycodone and other painkillers, then burned them to the ground along with police cars, private homes, and public buildings. The former mayor of Baltimore publicly referred to the rioters as “our children” and instructed the police to stand down and “give them their space” to loot, vandalize, and burn down parts of her city).

In response to all of this the college president decided that what is needed to reduce the likelihood of such events in the future is to put the affluent, mostly white, Loyola University Maryland faculty through a round of cultural Marxist “racial justice” training. Such language reminded me of Chinese and Vietnamese communist “re-indoctrination camps” where attendees were pressured/coerced into becoming good little obedient communists. So, naturally, I had to attend to see what it was all about.

Baltimore's Weekend 'Cease-Fire' Shattered As Off-Duty Cop Gunned Down

Baltimore’s second attempt at a 72-hour ‘cease-fire’ was cut short for the second time this year after an off-duty Washington police officer was killed and a women wounded on Saturday.

According to The Baltimore Sun homicide data base, Sgt. Tony Mason Jr.,40, was shot and killed on the upper west side at 2800 Elgin Avenue. Reports from NBC News, indicate Mason was struck by a fatal bullet inside a parked vehicle, where he was later transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital and died...

Unfortunately, Saturday’s shooting occurred just 26-hours into the 72-hour ‘Nobody Kill Anybody Baltimore Cease-Fire’campaign empowered by community activist who seek change in Baltimore after 50-years of democratic controlled leadership and de-industrialization compounded with an opioid crisis has left the city in an utter mess. The last ‘cease-fire’ in August failed about 40-hours in, as two killings thwarted efforts by community activist. It appears that ‘cease’fire’ events will become more prevalent as the community attempts to raise awareness. The problem with Baltimore and many other cities across the United States is that democratic controlled leadership did not allow media to cover the complete mess in their inner cities. As consciousness increases across America, Americans are figuring out their empire is dying. People are now demanding change.

On Thursday, just one day before the ‘cease-fire’ started, 3 homicides pushed Baltimore’s murder count above 300 making it the third year in a row. Ever since the Ferguson effect in 2014, death and destruction has taken over the city. Sadly enough, The Economist is forecasting a record year for homicides with their models pointing to over 400.

‘They’re Going to Try to Hide the Football’

The Republican establishment will “try to hide the football” in their latest effort to pass amnesty for nearly 800,000 illegal aliens shielded by an Obama-created federal program, says Breitbart News executive chairman and former White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon.

In a speech to the members of The Remembrance Project, an organization made up of the families of American victims who have been murdered at the hands of illegal aliens, Bannon exposed the latest efforts by GOP Senators and Congressmen to sell amnesty for illegal aliens to the American people while making false promises in exchange.

“This is a struggle, this is every day,” Bannon said of pushing back against an amnesty for illegal aliens. “The first struggle, as we often have, is the Republican establishment. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan. By the way, there are no more games. There’s no more slipping this stuff in the middle of the night. By the way … I must have missed … I must have missed where they said they were going to slip in building a wall into an appropriations bill. Where’s our wall? Where’s that wall?”

NFL Continues to Suffer Massive Numbers of Empty Seats on Gameday

With the NFL facing cratering TV ratings, it is also important to note that fans are staying away from the stadiums, too.

Fans have remarked on the sparse crowds at several games since last Thursday night.

For instance, Levis Stadium in San Francisco did not appear to have many fans in the seats.

Another Twitter user claimed that two thirds of the seats were empty this weekend.

Others were just as shocked at how empty the stadium was.

USA Today Chides Texas for ‘Lax’ Concealed Carry Laws Despite Church Shooter’s Denied Permit

USA Today chided Texas for “lax” concealed carry laws after the Sutherland Springs church shooting but the attacker, Devin Kelley, was denied such a permit.

Governor Greg Abbott (R) says the attacker was denied a Texas concealed carry permit.

USA Today criticized Texas concealed carry laws nonetheless. They pointed to the reduced fees for a permit, effective this year, whereby the price dropped from $14o to $40. The paper reported that a portion of the concealed carry safety course can be done online and that possession of a permit lets the holder carry openly or concealed.

The flagship Gannett Company outlet added, “The open carry law allows licensed gun owners to carry their weapons in most public spaces.”

None of these laws have anything to do with Sunday’s incident, as the attacker was denied a Texas carry permit.

Sharpshooting plumber fired shot that took down Texas church gunman

The man hailed as a hero for confronting the Texas mass shooter during his rampage is a sharpshooting plumber with no military background — who hit the gunman through a gap in his body armor, according to a report.

Stephen Willeford managed to shoot Devin Kelley before jumping in another man’s truck and chasing him down, the Daily Mail reported.

Kelley blew himself away after wiping out in his SUV, according to Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt.

Texas Department of Public Safety chief Freeman Martin said Willeford “grabbed his rifle and engaged the suspect” after Kelley left the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, where he opened fire with an assault rifle and killed 26 people.

For Addicted Doctors, Confidential Treatment That Works

WARRIOR, Ala. — The day Dr. Arthur Green (not his real name) checked into his rustic cabin here at Bradford Health Services, he said he doubted he could beat his decadeslong struggle with alcohol and find joy again in treating patients. Three weeks later, he said, he was convinced otherwise.

For Dr. Mary Waters (not her real name), it took six weeks to see a way out of her depression, anxiety and addiction to prescription painkillers. But now she says she’s confident and excited to return to practice.

They are among hundreds of physicians from across the country who come to this quiet, pine-shaded retreat 25 miles north of Birmingham, where they can get mental health and addiction treatment without jeopardizing their medical licenses.

Bradford’s addiction treatment regimen isn’t unique — more than a dozen other addiction centers across the country offer similar programs — but when combined with other services offered by state organizations known as physician health programs, it is extraordinarily effective.

Egyptian Prosecutor: It is the national duty of men to rape women in ripped jeans

When I hear American feminists screech about “rape culture” in our country, I roll my eyes so hard that it gives me a headache. For the longest time, I didn’t believe that it even existed. I thought that “rape culture” was just another one of their made up words; a perceived problem in search of a feminist solution, if you will.

But the more I hear about what is happening to women overseas, the more I realize that rape culture is, in fact, a thing. It is very real and millions of women in the world are experiencing it every day.

Take Egypt, for example, where a prosecutor recently told a panel on national news that it was a man’s duty to rape a woman who is dressed in what he deems to be “revealing” clothing.

Man's Car Found With Racist Graffiti On It. He Did It Himself.

Last week, a vehicle parked in a lot not far from the Kansas State University campus was found with virulently racist statements all over it. Kansas State issued a statement in which they asked for the facts to be gathered before the university responded publicly, writing:

We thank the Riley County Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation for their prompt investigation of an alleged hate crime. The possibility of hate crimes in our communities affects the very fabric of our daily lives. We want to acknowledge the anger and pain felt by many in our community when racist pictures and words were posted on social media. We encourage anyone who feels affected to take advantage of the many university resources available through student life, human capital services and counseling services. Our first response always will be to look out for the members of our K-State family.

This situation reminds us again that the responsible path is to gather the facts before we respond publicly. This becomes even more important in an age where inaccurate social media claims are routinely accepted as truthful. We appreciate that the results of this investigation have exposed the facts and allow us to move forward.

Team Hillary Comes Out Guns Blazing… Calls Donna Brazile a Liar and Blames Russia

Former interim DNC Chair Donna Brazile has released a tell all book concerning the Hillary Clinton campaign and its underhanded dealings with the DNC and the Democrat voter base. Brazile alleges that Clinton actively took over the DNC even before she won the primary, that in fact the primary was rigged against Bernie Sanders (though she is attempting to walk that back a bit now) and that Hillary demanded control of communications and the money. Brazile says it got so bad that she considered replacing candidate Clinton with former Vice President Joe Biden.

As can be expected, the Clinton campaign staff are indignantly denying all of this, and trying to impugn Brazile and her motives. It’s an interesting change of pace to see the Left attack people from their own side. But then the Clintons have always been ruthless, ever since the “glory days” of Bill’s presidency. They have years and years of experience destroying anyone who dares defy them. No one is off limits.

Refugee Admissions Plummets to 1,242 in 1st Month FY 2018

The number of refugees admitted into the country during the first month of FY 2018 by the Trump administration plummeted to 1,242 – an 87 percent decline from the 9,945 admitted during the first month of FY 2017 by the Obama administration.

The percentage of refugees admitted who are Muslim declined dramatically as well, from 45 percent in October 2016 to 23 percent in October 2017, according to the State Department interactive website.

Of particular note is the precipitous drop in the number of refugees admitted from the seven countries whose citizens were temporarily banned from traveling to the United States under the first travel ban, Executive Order 13679, issued by President Trump on January 27, 2017.

In October 2017, the first month of FY 2018, only 275 refugees from these seven countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudian, Syria, and Yemen — were admitted to the United States under the Refugee Admissions Program.
