One of the fringe benefits of living in a country that’s in dire need of a political, financial, and cultural reset, is the twisted amusement that comes with bearing witness to its unraveling. Day by day we’re greeted with escalating madness. Indeed, the great fiasco must be taken lightly, so as not to be demoralized by its enormity.
Of particular note is the present cast of characters.
Could Bill Shakespeare himself have come up with a more flawless flock of scoundrels to take the plotless narrative from comedy to tragedy?
There’s President Trump, Hillary Clinton, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Mueller, the Podesta Brothers, all of Congress; the list of political actors goes on and on. Moreover, it wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t also mention former A-lister’s Barney Frank and O-Bama.
The political class’ efforts to climb and crawl over each other to reach the top of the dust heap and stay there are without restraint. Promises, lies, coercions, and deceits are all part of Washington’s standard operating procedures. They’ll steal from your kids and lie to grandma to get what they want.
Financial actors like Jamie Dimon, Lloyd Blankfein, John Stumpf, Steven Mnuchin, Janet Yellen, various Fed Presidents, and soon to enter stage right, Jerome Powell, have their parts to play too. Namely, to extract as much savings and future earnings from the general population as possible without triggering a revolt.

Both high-crime and trendy Chicago neighborhoods see surge in carjackings
Even the slightest noise makes Kim Fasula look nervously over her shoulder, months after she was carjacked at gunpoint in her garage on a summer morning in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood.
She struggled for a time getting behind the wheel of her SUV again and to this day hasn’t set foot in her garage or alley, parking instead on the street. Co-workers at the University of Illinois at Chicago sometimes walk her to her vehicle after work. If she’s alone, she hurries to her vehicle, calling her husband on her cellphone to let him know, “I’m walking out now.”
“My daughter used my car the night before and that’s all I kept thinking was ‘What if it was her?’” said Fasula, a 48-year-old mother of three.

Grazing Rights, Cattle Ranching, Tortoises, Fracking, Solar arrays, and Clive Bundy at Old Dad & Uranium One
What the heck is going on? Why would Clive Bundy have ever quit paying for grazing rights for his huge herd of cattle when he needed it so badly? His cattle fed those Las Vegas hotels all the T-bones and Filet Mignon they could get. Back in 2014, though, the BLM brought in troops, track hoes and helicopters to round up cattle who were now “trespassing” on BLM land without a permit. Many cattle were being just shot and buried in pits dug out with the track hoe. Bundy went out to claim his rightful property back and had many friends to help him do it, too. After all, his permit wasn’t pulled for not paying the fees, it was just plain pulled one day for no reason and that’s why Clive decided he didn’t have to keep paying for something he wasn’t going to get.
It didn’t take long for lots of help from across the country to come out to stand with the Bundy Ranch and a huge armed standoff to start. Cattle were released back to Bundy, and the BLM story had to change since now the “permit” cat was out of the bag, so all of a sudden there were Desert Tortoises to protect. Yeah, that’s the ticket! Tortoises! No way could they continue to survive after 115 years of the Bundy’s cattle grazing there!
Wait, no, that doesn’t sound right, either. How the heck did those turtles survive all those years next to the cattle? We need to say we need the land to put up a nice, clean solar farm! Yeah, you know, to make the planet a better place, you know! Flood the millions of acres with trucks, trailers, drilling rigs, pickups, concrete mixers and plants, smashing all those freakin’ tortoises along the way! After all, we just got word the funding dried up at the giant tortoise research facility and they have to euthanize all their turtles anyway!
Rumor were starting on the WEB that the real reason the BLM wanted the land is for fracking for natural gas. After all, none of the other stories made a lick of sense, and provided absolutely no valid reason for anything the BLM was claiming, It HAD to be something like that; it’s the only thing that makes any sense, right?
Enter Uranium One. The name of some Russian company that owns uranium mines or something, isn’t it? And they work under the cover of other names all over the world, right? I wonder when and where they thought up that name. I mean wouldn’t a Russian mining company have a Russian sounding name like, oh, Stroikcveski or something? How is it that they would think of “Uranium 1”?
Let’s look at an old 1950’s USGS map of Uranium mining claims in, say, Nevada. Take a real close look at the lower right corner of the map, and the legend at the left. See it? Look for #10.
Here, I’ll blow it up for you… (above)
#10 on the legend reads, “Old Dad and Uranium 1 Claims”. Huh! Imagine that? Just where is this in Nevada? Let’s take a look at the BLM land that was taken away from the Bundy's. Above is a map showing the red lined area that was permitted to the Bundy’s for 115 years as grazing land, and a green square dot showing the 160 acre Bundy farm used to grow crops. I’ve marked the location of #10, the Uranium 1 claim from back in the 1950’s. No telling how big it is now, but it’s clearly in sight of any ranch hand who happens to be rounding up some cattle for market.
Imagine one of Bundy’s men coming across a huge strip mining operation with a bunch of names tied to Russia?

WaPo Fact Checker Misleads on Uranium One Deal to Protect Clintons
Glenn Kessler is the Washington Post’s self-appointed “Fact Checker,” yet his attempt to set the record straight on a 2010 deal to transfer of 20 percent of the U.S.’s uranium capacity to the Russian government is full of omissions and misdirections–errors that cast doubt on Mr. Kessler’s intent.
Kessler says claims that Hillary “gave away” 20 percent of the US’ uranium to Russia are inaccurate. Yet neither statement he cites in the piece claims that the uranium was given away. Kessler is setting up a straw man—a strange thing for an alleged “fact checker” to do. He’s trying to portray the claims about the uranium as though Hillary Clinton personally handed Vladimir Putin a suitcase full of yellow cake.
His depiction also conveniently omits what makes the story truly scandalous–the massive amounts of money that flowed into the Clinton Foundation and the family’s personal coffers from parties tied to the Uranium One deal. The Clinton Foundation received tens of millions of dollars from businessmen tied to the transaction in the time leading up to the deal, of which millions were undisclosed. (Both of these facts have been confirmed by the New York Times.)

The U.S. Department of Defense stated that the strikes were conducted in coordination with the Somali government, occurred in northeastern Somalia, and killed “several terrorists.”
“The first strike occurred at about midnight East Africa Time, with the second strike taking place at about 11 a.m. AFRICOM officials are assessing the results of the strikes,” the statement said.
According to ABC News, the airstrikes were conducted with armed drones.

CDC warns outbreak of eye syphilis is not slowing down
Eye syphilis is on the rise in the United States, health officials warn.
More than 200 people across 20 states were diagnosed with the sexually-transmitted disease in their eyes between 2014 and 2016, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ocular syphilis, which can cause blindness and blurry vision, develops out of a syphilis infection in the spinal cord, which spreads to the eye.
While it was once rare but rates have been steadily climbing in America in recent years.

Donna Brazile Considered Replacing Hillary After Campaign Trail Fainting Spell
Donna Brazile held secret deliberations to discuss using her power as interim chair of the Democratic National Committee to replace Hillary Clinton as the party’s nominee after the former first lady suffered a fainting spell on the campaign trail last September, she writes in her bombshell memoir.
The Washington Post reports that Brazile reveals in her memoir that she considered replacing Clinton with then-Vice President Joe Biden or New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker because of the former secretary of state’s “anemic” campaign.
Clinton’s effort, which carried with it an “odor of failure,” was struggling to appeal to white working-class voters, writes Brazile in the book, “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House.”
The Post obtained an advance copy of the 288-page memoir, which will be released on Tuesday.

Swamp Monster: Robert Mueller's FBI Purposefully Kept Congress In The Dark About Russia's Massive And Illegal Involvement With American Uranium Companies
Florida Republican Representative Matt Gaetz introduced a resolution Friday that called for former FBI Director Robert Mueller to step down as special counsel for the “Russia investigation” due to the fact that he was directly involved with covering up Russia’s “significant and illegal” involvement with American uranium companies.
That’s right, the man whose supposed job is to find out whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia was actually the head of the FBI when they covered up the fact that the country was “corrupting” American uranium companies while also purposefully stopping a key witness from contacting Congress about said corruption.
In other words, Mueller is a deep state operative who is literally guilty of what he claims to be investigating President Trump for and should immediately resign as there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that his investigation is or will be unbiased. (The man is close personal friends with James Comey for crying out loud!)

School Extorts $40 from Low-Income Family for Supplies Student Already Has
I've always been curious about parents who have school supply horror stories. I sure have my own from when my son was in elementary school. Few of us will be able to match Canadian parent Kevin Sacobie's experiences this year, however.
CBC reports: "A father on social assistance whose son started Grade 3 with pencils and notebooks supplied by the Fredericton food bank says the school is hounding him to pay $40 for essentially the same supplies bought by his son's teacher."
"We felt really bushwhacked — embarrassed is a good way to put it," Kevin Sacobie said as he described the school's demand of $40 for supplies.
Principal Jack Hay said that the majority of teachers at Nashwaaksis Memorial School opted to purchase enough school supplies to last the year and asked each student to pay $40.
"For Sacobie, this was $40 he didn't have — for supplies his son did not need," CBC said.
It's not unusual for teachers to pick up supplies for students, particularly for students who don't have their own. In fact, I think every teacher my children have had in school has done this.

The Media Still Doesn't Understand the Connection Between Islamic Terrorism and Islam
We live in an era when acts of terrorism happen with frightening regularity. The recent attack in lower Manhattan brought the sad reality of Islamic terror back to American soil again. Sayfullo Saipov drove a rented truck along a bike path blocks away from the site of the 9/11 attacks and plowed into unsuspecting people, killing eight.
Here's what we know. Saipov followed the instructions from ISIS-related social media accounts for lone wolf vehicular attacks. His own social media accounts included links to ISIS-related groups. Authorities found a note near the truck Saipov rented that declared — in Arabic — that ISIS would live forever. Witnesses reported that Saipov shouted "Allahu akbar," the Arabic phrase for "Allah is great," as he exited the truck.
"Allahu akbar." That's the sticking point that the mainstream media can't get around. It's as if the press can't bring themselves to admit that Islamic terrorism is Islamic, and the way they address that very phrase proves that they don't want to make the connection between Islamic terrorism and Islam.

Teen Vogue Shutters Shortly After Publishing 'Guide to Anal Sex' for Teen Girls
Teen Vogue is caput. Conde Nast announced today that Teen Vogue is getting the axe.
The New York-based publisher, which has instilled a hiring freeze, will slash about 80 jobs, equal to a decrease of about 2.5 percent of its 3,000-person workforce. Budgets across departments are also expected to get a haircut, with the worst-performing divisions and magazines getting cuts of up to 20 percent. As part of that mandate, Condé is reducing the frequencies of most of its titles and will shutter Teen Vogue in print.
There's no mention of the controversy that most likely caused the huge dip in sales: the pushing of explicit and dangerous sexual practices on children. The Activist Mommy led a boycott of Teen Vogue that seems to have done the trick. Good riddance. The last few months have brought us these scintillating headlines from Teen Vogue.

Company Comps Non-Smoking Employees for Their Co-workers' Smoke Breaks
While it seems that fewer and fewer people are smoking these days, there are still an estimated 36.5 million adults who smoke in the United States today. That's a lot of people. And that's a lot of smoking breaks taken throughout the workday.
When an employee of Piala Inc., a Tokyo-based organization in Japan, put a message in the company's suggestion box about how the smokers among the employees have been causing problems, the CEO, Takao Asuka, agreed. Since Piala, Inc. is located on the 29th floor of the building, the 30 or so employees (out of 120 total) who wish to take a cigarette break must go all the way down to the basement to do so. Each trip eats up about 15 minutes. And that can add up.
To address the issue, Asuka did something unexpected: he gave all non-smoking employees of Piala Inc. six extra days off per year to compensate. And some have already taken advantage of the new perk. Incredibly, four smoking employees have even kicked the habit as a result of the new policy.

FBI report claims MLK had 'all-night sex orgies'
An FBI report has been declassified as part of the newly released John F. Kennedy assassination files, and claims Martin Luther King Jr had an 'all-night sex orgy' at a training workshop.
The report released on Friday was written just weeks before the revered civil rights leader was assassinated in 1968, and details allegations about a workshop King held earlier that year in Miami.
The FBI's sex smears against King have been well known for years, but the newly released 20-page report offers new insight into the harsh portrait the Bureau attempted to paint of him as he campaigned for civil rights and economic reforms.
It is not clear whether the FBI was able to confirm any of the salacious claims it included in the analysis, and they could not be independently verified.

NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti pledges brain to science
NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti is pledging his brain to research into football-linked brain injuries.
The Miami Dolphins legend, 76, was diagnosed with dementia in May, and his doctors suspect he also suffers from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a critical disease which scientists believe is caused by blows to the head.
Speaking on Friday, Buoniconti cried as he said he is leaving his brain with the famed research team at Boston University, which diagnosed CTE posthumously in the late Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, in the hopes that he can help speed up attempts to diagnose CTE during life.
It comes a month after his son Marc, who was left paralyzed for life after a clash in a college football game 32 years ago, said he believes youth football should be banned.
'My life, as I know it, has been taken away from me,' Buoniconti wept on Friday, sat in a wheelchair next to his wife Lynn.

State Colleges Now Teaching Cannabis, and Harvard Is Playing Catch-Up
With cannabis legalization spreading rapidly both within the US and abroad, job-seekers have been increasingly interested in academic programs geared toward landing a job in the emerging cannabis industry.
It’s sensible enough. More than half of all US states in have legalized medicinal cannabis, and eight and Washington, DC, have legalized adult use. As we reported earlier this year, those legal cannabis markets support nearly 150,000 full-time jobs as of 2017. The green rush is real.

The New American Dream: Work Longer, Live Sicker, Die Sooner
With stagnant wages, rising cost of living (see shelter inflation), and a lack of savings, Americans are retiring later than ever before (if at all). But in a double-whammy for seniors, whose health is declining, their lifespans are shrinking offering them little if any time to enjoy the end of the American Dream walking hand in hand into the sunset on a faraway beach...
As Bloomberg reports, data released last week suggest Americans’ health is declining and millions of middle-age workers face the prospect of shorter, and less active, retirements than their parents enjoyed.
Here are the stats:
The U.S. age-adjusted mortality rate - a measure of the number of deaths per year - rose 1.2 percent from 2014 to 2015, according to the Society of Actuaries.
