New York has launched a new dashboard that shows how every region of the state is doing on all seven requirements they must meet to begin reopening their economies.
The dashboard can be viewed online. The information is updated every 24 hours, said Jim Malatras, an aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Malatras spoke during a press conference today in Irondequoit, near Rochester.
Cuomo first closed schools and nonessential businesses in the state in March to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The current shutdown order expires May 15. In regions meeting the reopening requirements, a phased economic restart can begin after that.
Much of Upstate New York is close to meeting all the benchmarks for reopening. Central New York is just one metric away. The region must still boost testing for the virus, according to the state.
Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon has been saying he’s confident the region will have enough testing by May 15. He said this afternoon he believes the area already does and vowed Central New York will be ready on time.

Isn't it funny how even "the most hard hit states" supposedly by this virus, are opening the same time everyone else is??? Even the "less hard hit towns?" Now explain to me how all of the places in all of the other states are opening up at the same time even the most hard hit states, hmmm can anyone tell me how that is possible, almost is if this was planned???
Why can't Maryland do something like this? And why is there alway a spike in reported corona virus deaths on Tuesdays?
NYC will never meet all criteria. Expect that the bar will be significantly lowered in probably the worst place in the US that it could happen.
Speaking of NYC, AOC hasn't come up with any plan except to increase the perpetual debt.
Fewer people have died in the US so far this year than in the first part of many years prior. Why is anything shut down?
Exactly, why can’t they??
