Have You Noticed Perdue Isn't Selling Chicken Here On The Shore?

I found this image on Facebook.

I've watched Mountaire and Amick Farms provide chicken for sale. But where is Perdue, when they are headquartered here?!

Mountaire provided free chicken to the staff at AGH. Perdue sucks.

Selfish and greedy. Only gave the soybean plant workers $1 per hour raise. What a slap in the face. The hourly staff should organize and shut that hellhole down.

Maybe they never really sold chicken to the Eastern Shore? It happens. Florida fruit to mostly other States than Florida.

Speculative comment. Not every chicken firm focuses on grocery stores. If their regular sales channels are open and doing well there isn't much incentive to divert product to pop-up sales.

OTOH, if primary customers are food service and restaurants you might have a temporary surplus and selling from the tailgate would be a bit of a win-win.

Just a guess.

They are playing the market where demand is high and supply is low.

Same old seventy-six, look out for every son of a bitch in the World and let the home folk fend for themselves. They started here, used the locals, but when the chips are down, screw us.

12:46 - Perdue had a trailer sale located at How Sweet It Is on March 29th before either Mountaire or Amick had their sales.

Uhh last time I checked Davidsonville is on the shore. Granted up near the bay bridge but still Delmarva.

Perdue sold 15 tons of chicken in just a couple of hours at the sale in Davidsonville.

Don't care anymore.

Anyone hearing about meatless Mondays in the future (no purchase of meats on Mondays)??

Sam's in Salisbury has been selling palletloads of chicken every time I've been there. Large family pack sizes. And they don't even normally sell Perdue.

Yes, this is becasue like the BEEF industry, the govt is making them kill off the product so they can import cheaper crappier meat from third world countries!!!! This is also to help push along further the food supply crisis that will be coming in a month!!!!

3:06 comments like yours is what causes buying frenzies and empty shelves, even when they are false.

Yes, you bet it IS disgusting but this is the way most family business evolve.

Frank was the height of this business in honer and giving back and looking out for the community.

Perdue died along with Frank.

Jimmy is just a spoiled rich puck - to be as nice as I can be.

2:20...what are you talking about. I’ve always been able to buy Perdue chicken at sams.

3:06 You swung and missed.

Plenty of cows, pigs, chickens normally available but staffing shortages in processing plants are the current bottleneck. Chicken has shortest grow cycle so likely to resolve earliest after sick workers back on the job. USA is mostly self-sufficient except for exotic stuff like fancy Japanese steaks.

There primary market has been big cities like NY for years. I haven't seen one oven stuffer in 3 mos. The other chicken industries here on the shore realize we're their real home market. Perdue isn't the same since Frank Perdue died and Jimmy took over. Also they are not environmentally friendly to the shore.

Maybe Perdue is filling a void where no other company is selling chicken.

The reason Perdue didn't have as much to sell like the other two they had a market. The other two would either had to sell the way they did or dump it unfortunate for them fortunate for us. Believe me this isn't how they wanted to sell there chicken but it worked out for everyone.

I, personally, don't care for Perdue chicken.
