Worcester County rises to 39 coronavirus cases

Ocean Pines Association employee diagnosed, had no contact with members

(April 24, 2020) Since last week, positive cases of coronavirus in Worcester County have risen by 14 for a total of 39 as of Thursday. One of those cases is an employee of the Ocean Pines Association. The association said the person is recovering at home and had no contact with association members.

Twenty-two cases are located in the 21811 zip code for Berlin and Ocean Pines.

Last week, the Maryland Department of Health began releasing zip code data, but only if the zip code has at least eight cases. The Worcester County Health Department said that since cases are in the double digits, it will no longer be releasing the age and sex of cases.

Wow that is a lot. Population is only 150k. .0001. Kinda like when you get an elective surgery.0001 chance of a problem.

Still nobody has yet to come forward about 3 confirmed cases on Dighton Ave in Snow Hill Md with one reported death. Nobody has yet to be that concerned about it or to release any information our front line workers need this information to protect their own

Imagine that. Don't tell me these out of staters coming down here to their vacation homes are not bringing the virus with them. They need to stay at their permanent homes, since they are violating the "stay at home " orders in their state and the one in the state of MD.

Many more to come is true 11:00am, especially if they open the beach, boardwalk and hotels to anyone who wants to travel here from all over the world. Sorry it's that way for the Town and businesses but it's what this virus is. Open too soon and the Town will have to re-shut down and there will be many more cases to deal with.

Just to clarify,Worcester has a population of 52k,not 150k. The low number tells me the stay-at-home orders are working.
