Close to 400,000 anchor babies were born in the United States in 2019 as an executive order to end birthright citizenship gets kicked down the road for another year by President Donald Trump’s administration.
Analysis conducted by the Center for Immigration Studies revealed in 2018 that about 300,000 U.S.-born children of illegal aliens are born every year. These children, often referred to as “anchor babies,” immediately obtain American citizenship and anchor their illegal or foreign parents in the country.
In addition, about 72,000 anchor babies are born to foreign tourists, foreign visa workers, and foreign students every year — all of whom obtain immediate American citizenship simply for being born within the parameters of the country.

Critical Thinking Skills and Fact Finding for the Day:
- Put the 400k number into perspective: there were nearly 3.8 MILLION babies born total in the US in 2018 (quickest year to find). Which means "anchor babies" only account for around 10% of births. Hardly a takeover
- There are over 73 MILLION minors in the US. That total number dwarfs the number of anchor baby minors(4.5 M) reported in the story. Again, hardly a take over.
- With these numbers in perspective, one has to wonder the motive of the author for comparing nation-wide numbers of anchor baby births to individual state births. A national number is likely to ALWAYS be higher than individual state numbers. The author then compares the TOTAL number of anchor babies (kids under 18) to an annual number of births. Unless everyone is dying, of course the total number of the former is going to be higher than the latter.
Folks, you are allowing your minds to be hijacked by people feeding you half truths, misinformation, and false narratives. If you call yourself a patriot, do your research, think critically, then form an opinion rather than going off whatever you are spoon fed by some website (or other media) that has a clear agenda. 9 out of 10 times that agenda drills down to "keep the ad revenue coming by printing provocative stories that get the audience riled up". These outlets don't give a damn about how they tear the country down. Its all about profits.
400,000 to many. Think of all that welfare money going out of this country - the laws need to be changed.
