BERLIN – Worcester County will kick off National Recovery Month by “going purple.”
In September, organizers of Worcester Goes Purple will launch a month-long campaign to promote conversations on substance abuse.
Worcester Goes Purple is an initiative supported by Worcester County Public Schools, Worcester County Health Department and Atlantic General Hospital.
And while the kick-off is months away, Event Coordinator Debbie Smullen said partnering agencies are encouraging residents, business and community members to support the movement.

Why purple?
This makes me sick to keep hearing this garbage. Shut the f'ing border down hence shit down the onslaught of fentynal coming into the country.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree with you... 92 percent of ALL overdoses in Maryland January to March was the fentyal.
Ironic how quickly local and state government jumped on this gravy train to form careers for themselves and family. Our leaders just continue to screw us over whether it's illegal immigrants, the "so called" opioid crisis or whatever they can come up with tomorrow and we just continue to give them a blank check to "fix" the world when in reality their just padding bank accounts
@6:07 I'm not being critical if the addiction crisis but to be truthful we are allowing it by allowing any and all into this country. The majority of those coming are not doing so with good intentions. Fentynal IS the problem and those that have chosen to use don't want anything but fentynal
