So they used that as an excuse to piss away all that money to build that station and now they want to not just build a new station, they'd have to MAN that station, another expense the City residents simply cannot afford.
Have they not learned from what Ocean City is going through referencing salaries and being forced to RAISE TAXES! That's right Folks, it doesn't show up immediately.
Their ONLY excuse is that they want to be to every situation in less then 4 minutes. Well, what you want and what your going to get are in fact two different things. There's MANY things we all WANT. However, in this economy We The People must reconsider and decide just what we can or can't afford.
Expect Mayor Day and his left wing Council to walk this through so they can reach their ultimate goal, raise taxes. It should be brought to referendum, just like they just did in Sussex County Delaware where We The People shot down yet another tax increase because WE WILL BE HEARD AND RESPECTED. Not in Salisbury Maryland!

Rick Pollitt and his cronies got kickbacks off the worthless deal for Station #2 and overlooked / covered-up so many variables that did not fit their agenda that lined their pockets. Salisbury gets what they voted in office. They need to quit crying. They also got an incompetent Firehouse Administration. Just as long as they leave the County out of their expensive screw-ups let them do what they want. Salisbury is another Baltimore.

If they would answer the calls when they come in they could be there in 4 minutes. I have overheard medicals calls repeated in untimely fashion when no one answers. Some 5-10 minute delays. It would seem possible that people have died due to waiting for them to respond on the radio and accept the call showing up 10-15 minutes later.
Station 2 was fine, the only reason they tore the old building down us because the volunteers owned it as long as it was a fire station ,through a lease from the Morris family. They could not dictate to the volunteers and have to have complete control or they get their way all the time, and force volunteers out. It should have never been re built in the same location. it should have been built up north instead if across the street from the old firehouse.
As soon as they build that new station north they will want one by the Perdue Stadium or War-Wic college.
8:50, they are taking away Dagsboro Rd from Delmar, next it will be Pohanka and those apartments. They just annex it.
Salisbury can't handle the area they have now, no help, they have to call county volunteer departments in on everything. Maybe they need to beg the volunteers that left to come back,

The City of Salisbury is an endless money pit, that's why I moved to the county. I now have 4x the house and 1/2 the taxes I paid in the City, and don't have to pay the ridiculous water bills and worthless trash service that never shows up.....
This was not Tull choice. This has been in the CIP for a few years now. Hippos is the one that slid this gem in there. The volunteers of 2 wanted them to build a new single engine or truck and EMS unit up by tractor supply when the land was offered for FREE and to be left alone there in the center of the city with remodel. Even offered to fund half of the remodel. Hippos shot that down and pushed those guys and girls out.
Who else remembers when the former Montgomery Ward auto service facility at the Centre was offered to them, and rejected? Won't the Sears auto facility be available in short order?
Probably space inside enough to hide the fahr boat, too.
Johnson don't care what they take as long as he makes them sales and gets that commission. Johnson chief of delmar has no intrest of his district at all . Johnson only recives quotes for his company and delmar purchances everything from him which allows him to continue to fill his pockets from the delmar firedepartment.
Nearly 30 years ago a committee of career, volunteer firemen & business men sat on a committee with the beginning of the north Salisbury development to discuss the needs of SFD. One of the recommendations of the committee was to construct a fire station to house one ambulance and one fire engine in the area of Naylor Mill Rd. Unfortunately chiefs previous to Tull ignored the building of this station. The need was clearly identified before the building boom when land was cheep so SFD could pick the best location. This fire station was to be built as a priority before any other stations were built in Salisbury. Chiefs Higgins, Brezler, Simpson, See, Gordy, Hoppes all ignored the need for this station. The old station 2 should have been left alone since there was nothing at all wrong with it but Gordy made sure it was torn down and a new station built.
Gordy made sure to line his pockets with money for that new station.
That he did allowed by Hoppes.
7:29...Johnson chief of Delmar, if this is true isn't that cohesion, which is illegal. Maybe ole Delmar Fire Dept needs to look into this as they and he might be breaking business law. Seems quite s few of the leaders in the surrounding fire depts have ties with salisbury, through employment there or unions. This needs to be looked at by the county executive. Seems like a lot of good ole boy and grimy stuff going on here. This really should be looked at. Along with response times. Seems sone can't respond in under 10 min. Is there a standard on response times ? If so what is it ? Who is failing ? Public safety wants to know as out tax money is dolled out to them with no stipulations on their preformance.

I mean salisbury can annex right up to the Delmar corporate limits. With a station up north staffed 24-7 they can be in Delmar before they even get a crew at the station.
You mean Gordy came back to maryland from retirement in Florida to build this new station 2 ? He was also involved in the palace built on cypress st. Something smells fishy here. What was he paid bu the taxpayer to do this ? This all needs to be investigated.
