OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ) — Lifeguards in Ocean City were busy Monday as they’ve made at least 141 rescues of swimmers.
According to Captain Butch Arbin, of Ocean City Beach Patrol, most of the rescues were to assist swimmers before the person became panicked.
Lifeguards are trying to warn swimmers of a rip current.
The Beach Patrol did post a video on twitter asking for people to follow lifeguards’ whistle commands.

And YEARS of beach replenishment without any sand bars has absolutely NOTHING to do with this.
BS! It may not have 100% to do with it, but it part of the problem. Sand that never gets to compact over time (loose sand from replenishment) moves.
Wow! An affirmative action lifeguard! Don’t need to remind me to stay out of the water in Ocean City.
How come the lifeguard stands don't have umbrellas to protect the lifeguards from overexposure to the sun and make it easier to see?
Only God saves more lives than the OCBP!
They do, you can even see the umbrella holder on the stand in the picture. Some guards use them, some don't. Its their choice.
