I worked at a local engineering firm and I have a long last name and asked the idiot IT guy if he would shorten my email address and he actually argued with me about it. Logic finally prevailed and I got my request. But his BS excuse was that it would "confuse" the system. He was such a lying backstabbing manipulative gossiping controlling a$$.
