The Athletic reports that Jones, 32, bought Ripken’s home – valued at $12.5 million – for a fraction of the price at an auction Saturday.
Jones is in the final year of his six-year, $85.5 million contract, but the purchase doesn’t guarantee that the outfielder will be back in black and orange next season, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Jones, reportedly, is active in real estate and buys and sells homes in other cities too.
Jones currently has 7 home runs on the season and is batting .259.

Adam outbid me by .5 million.I consider the price he paid to be more than a "fraction" of the original asking price.
The sell price will not become public knowledge until after settlement. Then it will be there for all to see online, if you know where to look.
Because at this stage an offer has been made and accepted, nothing more. After the sale has been consummated it goes on public record.
I heard just over 3 mil. The money goes to his ex wife Kelly. He owes her 10.5 million as part of the divorce settlement and a promissory note and lien was put on the house for the money she's owed. Her name was never on the house but she was living there he in Annapolis.
It is none of your business.
