I was a computer operator back in 1984. We were using an IBM 4341 mainframe system using cics. This computer used to fill up a whole building requiring a great deal of power run it. The disk drives were the size of washing machines and when you power them up, they had the sound of jet engines. It was a great job and paid well at that time. By the time I was laid off back in 2009, we were using an as/400 (application system 400) that was not much bigger than the desktops were are using today. Technology continues to get smaller and more powerful. I am grateful to have been one of the first to have used this technology. I still fix and repair laptops and desktops for my friends and family and make a little money on the side for doing this, not now it is a hobby and not for a living. Still amazed and still look forward to future advances in this technology.

The more impotent difference is the price per megabit.

Wait a minute - I thought size matters...
