Hey Joe,
I tried using the “new” electronic parking meter today. After entering my license plate multiple times and then it taking forever. When it came time to pay, it did not take quarters. After a few more attempts the meter finally stated it only takes cards. I do not have a card on me. So I had to leave. What a waste of a system and resources.

Isn't there an app for that? ha ha ha ha ha
Next time rent a bicycle and pedal your way into town
Yesterday I said it was useless to complain about the stupid things Jake and his administration have done in Salisbury. I stand by my comments. The majority of Salisbury voters are renters/temporary residents and have no skin in the game. All they want to do is ride their bikes, drink and do drugs.
You can tied your horse n buggy up by the old courthouse. Most meters don't take cash or coins. Many you can pay with your phone.
Try the 2 hour free parking in parking lot #1 . Very user friendly and FREE
works just like the new bikes. Saw one on its side in the parking lot next to the bike rack at the Hardee's across from SU
Fakey Jakey is making it really convenient to come downtown!
Nothing works right so in frustration and the need to be on time for your appointment you leave and along comes the city revenue generator to notify you of the gracious amount you need to give to the city!
It a shame when people try to hang onto old ways of doing things. I'm sure she knows how to use an ATM machine, a smart phone, and a computer. We are well into the 21st century, and the parking meter technology is not even new anymore. Go across the bay and see how they ALL do it. If you don't have a credit card, you don't park! Same way for parking garages. DC and Baltimore are both the same way. Its been that way for years now. Salisbury is actually slow to implement the no-longer-new technology, but it is finally here. Some people are just resistant to change, and anything "new" is a bother to them.
Some people live sheltered lives and don't get out much. Really, who doesn't have a "card." on them? She won't park in DC or Baltimore without one! What's she blaming Salisbury for? For modernizing their parking fee collection system? That's ridiculous.
Do you have to put in your tag number and what if I don't have a credit card? Will I be discriminated against for being poor?
Not surprised at all. Looking forward to all the horror stories that will be associated with the bike share......
I think the goal is to force everyone toward cashless society but chances are you won't get a ticket because most cities don't have the police resources to keep up.
The Salisbury downtown will never be revived until they provide free parking, get rid of the parking Nazis and meter maids which are revenue neutral anyway.
Why do you have to put in your license plate number to park?
You got that right. 3:56, and 3:40
2:08 PM what a total idiot.
In your words - the majority of your residents are renters
So I guess WE are the ones that pay for everything since we are the MAJORITY.
Only in this forsaken ghetto are renters considered garbage and temporary..
Wonder how many "owners" there are in NYC. I wonder if they are also looked down upon and besmirched.
Typical small minded POS local yokel - you are.
Sorry for your troubles, but Thanks for the info. Just another reason to avoid Jake's rotten 'bury.

So they can tell who has paid, how long you have been parked, if you are in violation, etc.
If one has a bank accout, one can get a "debit" card. You don't need to be rich or poor to obtain a "debit" card - only responsible with your finances. Something definitely LACKING with our Boy Mayor!
How long have visa debit cards been around?
