ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland law enforcement leaders are urging lawmakers not to override two of Gov. Larry Hogan’s vetoes relating to marijuana and the seizure of assets in criminal cases.
Groups representing states attorneys, police chiefs and sheriffs spoke against the measures Tuesday, a day before the legislative session begins.
They support the Republican governor’s veto of a bill decriminalizing the possession of marijuana paraphernalia. The measure also would decriminalize smoking pot in public. Maryland decriminalized possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana in 2014.

Asset seizure should NEVER be allowed without due process.
Paraphernalia is a manufacturing opportunity (at least it would be in a free society).
Law enforcement needs to get back to enforcing the laws that the citizens want and stop trying to control our behavior.
Obama approved.

That right there tells you lawmakers should override these.
Where is that common sense leadership?
Power is never going to advocate reducing itself. That's our job.
Law enforcement. Advocating the confiscation of property and cash without charges or a trial.
Disgusting.
Nazi's wanna-be's have gotten used to taking cars, boats, houses, and any cash without much resistance.
They must have taken the wrong person's car.
No charges. No trial. We take your property. READ THAT AGAIN.
Have they EVER read the Constitution?
Doesn't look like it......
Keep cheering.
when you let those in power make the rules, instead of the people, you will have tyranny. which is what we have. they work for us not the other way around. we tell them what we want, what is allowed or not, not them.
The governor thinks it is OK to arrest people for having paraphernalia? Just for owning the stuff? Mind boggling, this is one reason our courts are so clogged up.
If ever there were two vetoes that deserve to be turned over here they are.
