Georgetown, DE - The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit (S.O.A.R.) has arrested a Federalsburg, Maryland man after he failed to verify his employment status as required by law.
On Wednesday, January 20, 2016, S.O.A.R. unit detectives responded to the Georgetown Airport, located at 21553 Rudder Lane, Georgetown, and apprehended Charles N. Drenth, 48, of Federalsburg, Maryland, without incident. Drenth, who is a Moderate Risk Tier 2 sex offender, was ordered to register as a sex offender after a court conviction in the Kent County Superior Court in 2002. Drenth complied and registered as a sex offender as ordered, however, he then moved to Maryland and subsequently failed to verify his employment status in the state of Delaware as required by law.
Detectives arrested Drenth and charged him with Failure to Register, Re Register or Provide Verification as a Sex Offender and Failure to Re-Register as a Sex Offender within 3 Days after an Address or Place of Employment Change. He was arraigned at JP Court 2 and released on $4000.00 unsecured bail.
