Tips helped Detectives identify and link Lamar M. Smith of 1036 North Walnut Street Travelers Inn Motel and Mark A. Smith of 13609 South Old State Road, Ellendale to the robbery.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle identified as the suspect vehicle in the Capitol One Bank robbery. The operator Mark A. Smith and passenger Lamar M. Smith were taken into custody and transported to Troop 4. Interviews were conducted where both suspects were implicated in the robbery.
Lamar Smith is charged with Robbery First Degree, Conspiracy Second Degree, and Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $68,000.00 secured bond. (Photo attached taken 2/9/15 black shirt)
