Rubio: 'Real Danger' That Christianity Will Be Labeled 'Hate Speech'

Christianity is facing a "real and present danger" in the United States due to growing acceptance for gay marriage, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Marco Rubio said.

"We are at the water's edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech. Because today, we've reached the point in our society where, if you do not support same-sex marriage, you are labeled a homophobe and a hater," the Florida Republican told CBN News.

Rubio said the "next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate speech, and that's a real and present danger."

The comments are the latest in a series of remarks on gay marriage that have put the presidential contender under the media spotlight.

Rubio said earlier this year, also during an interview with CBN News, that it's "ridiculous and absurd" to believe that there is a constitutional right to same-sex marriage.

The liberal media and others may call him crazy but I believe he has a point. Christians in the Middle East are being slaughtered and the liberals constant rant of separation of church and state does suggest we are heading in that direction.

He needs to drop the handwringing about gay marriage and start focusing on the real threat to Christians, and every one of us: Islam.

It isn't the poofters that are brazenly slaughtering Christians, it's Islamists. While he's wasting his breath mewling about some intangible affront to his religious franchise of choice, there's innocent people being butchered in the name of their own religious franchise. t's a "safe" topic to spend airtime on; why risk speaking out against the encroachment of Islam when he can score a few points and a hell yeah, with some self-righteous puffery about >blahblahblahblahblah
familyAmerica<
blahblah>destroy...

4:24 I am far from a liberal, but I am absolutely against any possible foothold the Islamists may possibly try to exploit, to infect our society with Islam. The problem with allowing any religious interference into policy making or governance of any kind, is that it may not be YOUR deity that's being "consulted" on the issues. The Islamists breed like rabbits, and all it takes is for them to have enough of a voting bloc to place them in positions where they can impose "Allah's will" on you.

No religion in government or state matters, means no Islam enforcing their twisted ideology under the guise of religion.
