Police Have Killed 400 People in 2015, A New Grieving Family Every 7.5 Hours

Americans are less violent than ever, yet the police seem to be growing increasingly violent.

As of May 5, 2015, the police in the United States of America have killed 401 people that we know of.

Deaths By Law Enforcement 2015:
91 in the 31 days of January
85 in the 28 days of February
115 in the 31 days of March
101 in the 30 days of April
8 people in the 5 days of May

Extrapolating those numbers out to an hourly figure and the police have killed someone on average, every 7.48 hours. While there is no government-run database, Killed By Police has taken it upon themselves to keep track, and are doing a fantastic job thus far. It’s truly a Cop Crisis.

The three youngest are A’donte Washington, Jason C. Hendrix, and Kendre Omari Alston who were all only 16-years-old. The oldest was 87-year-old Lewis Becker. At least four officers have also been shot and killed by other officers.

What a ridiculously biased article. It's really not even an article. It's more of a hand picked assortment of numbers gathered and placed in order to further someones agenda. Here are some other numbers I was able to get in a very brief period of time spend doing actual research:

In 2013 there were 136 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

In 2013 there were 49,851 officers attacked - thats 136 per day - or 5.6 per hour. Of those officers attacked, 14,565 were injured. 79.8% of those attacks were carried out with hands, feet, or fists, 4.5% with firearms, 1.8% with knives or other cutting instruments, and 13.9% with other weapons.

Thats 10069 officers feloniously assaulted. Thats more than 27 per day.

Generally the circumstances surrounding a felonious assault would justify the use of deadly force by a police officer. Yet during that same year 332 people were killed by police. Less than 1 per day. That means that the use of deadly force by police resulted in the loss of life less than one time per day even though the use of deadly force was justified more than 27 times during that same day. I'd say that law enforcemnt officers exhibited an incredible amount of restraint. This is the result of training and continued attempts by law enforcement agencies to hone the selection process by which new law enforcement officers are chosen.

It is even more important to consider the agenda's of political parties in power as they tout their success's in areas such as race relations, crime prevention, reduction in crimes, etc., that fly in the face of what we actually see unfolding in front of our eyes. This article states that people are less violent - common sense tell us that's simply not true. I would caution everyone to open your eyes and not fall for these biased articles extremists put on the internet hoping to forward their own agenda.

7:01 AM - Police Officers volunteer for dangerous duty, civilians are supposed to be protected by the police - not targeted. Any innocent civilian death at the hands of police is one too many.

7:51......my comment listed above refers to those invloved in felonious assaults on police. I would proffer that when someone engages in a felonious assault on a police officer, he/she volunteers to engage in a dangerous situation as well. I urge you to go to the site from which the article was taken and read about the incidents and the circumstances surrounding them. I agree that an innocent death at the hands of ANYONE is one too many. Interestingly, in 2013 there were 38 murders a day that were not self defense, accidental/non-negligent, or negligent. Presumably the vast majority of these victims were innocent. I don't see that getting national coverage or anyone rioting in the street about it.

Has anyone taken into account how many of law-enforcement have been killed in the same amount of time

Looks like an article or news by Al Sharpton. A better question would be how many of these were where cops were sent out on calls of crime? Cops are not just riding around looking for someone to kill. They are sent out by calls received by citizens being robbed, beaten, threatened, assaults, domestic disputes etc. Need to get this entire list and see what were the calls that brought the police to action !!!!!!!!!!

In a war there are going to be causalities. We have a war on drugs going on, and a war on crime going on.

7:01....what a self serving piece of crap analysis.
For your information, police have charged people with "felonious assault" for trying to defend themselves against 4 cops (and an attack dog) who were putting an ass-whipping on him to the tune of .....200 (!!) stitches.
Felonious assault, huh?
That is just ONE example of your "felonious assaults" and there are hundreds more examples.
Statistics weave a good, but dead is dead - over 400 citizens killed in the first 5 months. THAT'S a statistic that can't be denied.
When you kill a 15 year old kid 5 seconds after you arrive on the scene, you BETTER come up with a reason and "assault" is a good one, right behind the ubiquitous "fear".
And 9:55??? Calling the police to the scene can easily result in the death of the victim, too. for example, the college girl shot in the head by a cop trying to be Dirty Harry (she was held in a headlock by a criminal), or more recently, the black man gunned down in his doorway (HE called the police!).

Let's all live in Imclain's world of no police. I'm sure the animals of society will not commit crime, when there is no law and order. GTFOH and move to Somalia.

3:09...you dummy.
I've NEVER said that police should be eliminated. EVER.
So, firstly, get your facts straight and pay more attention. You, too, 2:32.
I've maintained that today's police force is militaristic and overly aggressive. Quick on the trigger, hostile, and above the law. Always afraid and killing people for no other reason than "I was afraid".
We NEED the police. But we don't need jacked up former military storm troopers (remember "comply or die!!"???) dressing up in full combat gear and screaming orders that if not IMMEDIATELY obeyed (COMPLY!!) result in bullet wounds.
To borrow a phrase, they "have forgotten their place".
GFYAYM. Figure that one out.
Hint: it has something to do with your mother.
Use your name, too, you scared little sissy.
