Maine Governor Calls For NFL Boycott Over Rice Suspension

Gov. Paul LePage, outraged that National Football League player Ray Rice received only a two-game suspension for a domestic violence arrest, pledged to boycott the league and called on its commissioner to take the issue seriously.

In a scathing letter sent to Roger Goodell on Tuesday, the outspoken Republican governor said the punishment given to the Baltimore Ravens running back sends the message that it's OK "for professional athletes to beat women, just for the sake of ratings."

"Taking thugs and wife-beaters off the field may be bad for business, but you are playing games with people's lives," said LePage, who was beaten by his father when he was young and has made domestic abuse prevention and awareness a priority of his administration.

That's because the Maine team hasn't been competitive.

Oh, wait, there is no NFL team in Maine.

Not much else there but lobsters and libtards either.

I've been boycotting the NFL for some time now and don't intend to change unless they do.

I guess the Maine Lobsters are not coming to stadium near you any time soon.

Yeah, the NFL sure is different than the NBA. They must not have the same "morals clauses" in their franchise. They are allowed to beat up their spouses with no punishments and the owners are allowed to hang out with strippers.

Not like the NBA, where you can't even use the word "blacks." I boycott all of them. I see no sense in paying any individual the outrageous amounts of money that these organizations pay to be able to play with a ball. They may be willing to pay it. I am not.
