A popular Minnesota bar is under fire for posting a dress code that some are calling 'overtly racist.'
Bar Louie in Minneapolis has a sign on the door proclaiming they strictly enforce a policy that bans anyone wearing 'excessively' baggy clothing, large chains, long white t-shirts and other outerwear often associated with young black men.
Now the dress code is attracting a lot of negative attention for being no different, according to one patron, from saying 'no black folks allowed.'
'It's ridiculous,' outraged local Michelle Horovitz told KMSP. ''What is "excessively baggy?" Who's going to judge that? Are you going to have Grandma B sitting by the door?'

Same dress code at Seacrets and numerous other bars and clubs. I don't see a problem with it. They reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
Fagers in OC will not allow you in if you are wearing military boots. You can wear them while you serve your country but not patronize their business
If the shoe fits...reserving the right to refuse service to anyone doesn't apply if you run a bakery & make wedding cakes...
Anyone who deems this racist, is racist for thinking certain clothing equals a certain skin color. Kids dress like crap today, white, black, purple... they all suck at dressing themselves.
nope, theres plenty of stupid white boys that dress like that too
If people don't like what the rules are for that establishment, change the way you dress and look decent for a change, or go to one of your punk rock clubs and act and dress stupid.
I love bar Louie. Great place to eat and Tuesday is $5 burger night.
So, some place reserves the right to not allow people who dress like it's a hip-hop club. For those folks there are hip-hop clubs.
Act and dress properly and you will not have a problem anywhere.
My bar....My rules. Get over it.
Private business operated on private property, without gov't funding can set any dress code they choose.
It’s only racist if you believe that all the people of one ethinc group dresses like that. So is that the uniform of a nationality or what, This resturant does not want white, black, Chinese of Muslums, if they are dressed like that.

I have never seen a purple kid. You people really look ignorant and lose credibility when you make stupid comments like that.
i hate purple kids. they're the worst ...
12:59 I've never seen a red, or yellow, child... but that didn't stop the "jesus loves the little children" song. Moron.
I've seen purple ones, man. Back in '68! THEY WERE ALL PURPLE that day!
Since when did being well dressed in this country become a BAD or racist thing. They are just asking that patrons be "well dressed." I think that anyone who spins this into a racist issue has had their head spin around one time too many. And as far as Fagers....combat boots are designed to be an advantage in a fight...why encourage a fight or have your employees (bouncers) have to face this in a hostile situation. Clean up American. Jeeezzzz
The dress code addresses an entire generation, not a specific race.
Isee NOTHING wrong with this!!! It use to be like this at all establishments!! Remember - No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service!!! Like someone way above said: They have a right to refuse anybody!!!
If you walk into my parents house or my house and you are wearing a hat, ballcap - you need to remove it -- It's a respect thing!!!
