Arizona professor's jaywalking arrest gets out of hand

(CNN) -- A jaywalking rarely makes national news, but the arrest of Arizona professor Ersula Ore has done just that.

What began as a walk home from classes at Arizona State University ended with police charging the professor with assault.

The English professor was walking in the middle of a Tempe, Arizona, street one evening last month when a campus police officer stopped her. The incident escalated, and she was handcuffed and landed on the pavement.

Appearing Monday on CNN's "New Day," Ore was asked about her own words and actions in the incident and replied, "I think I did what I was supposed to do. I was respectful. I asked for clarification. I asked to be treated with respect, and that was it."

Uppity one needed to be locked up to be shown what showing respect means. she wasn't from what is seen in the clip. Has no right be in a position of authority over easily influenced minds.

As far as I know, not showing I.D. is not a crime. If it was, every voter in America should be rounded up at the polls and thrown in jail.

Oh, wait, is that what they want?

7:10 -troll. How dare us lowly citizen expect to be treated with respect from some rent a cop.

Cop escalated the situation from the start. If she was no impeding traffic there was no need for him to be such a dick.

Fact is unless she is being accused of a crime she does not have to show her ID. Also if you had even bothered to actually view the video, you can see NO TRAFFIC and lots of construction.

It was a street on a college campus not downtown NYC

If a police officer asks you for ID and you do not show it, that amounts to a crime. Try it sometime and see what you get.

7:23....Is your dumb ass really saying that "we, the people" are now REQUIRED to carry our ID with us at all times? For what? In case some short oompah loompah with a badge demands to see our "papers"?
Kill any Jews lately, or is it in your family history?
A crime to not show an ID? I don't carry my wallet occasionally. Picnics, beach, parties, etc.
Which one of you SS troopers wants to try to arrest me over that? Try it sometime and see what you get. Bring back up.

If an officer of the law has reasonable suspicion that you have committed, are committing or will commit a crime they can ask for identification. If you don't provide it you are subject to arrest. By the way, tough guy, threatening someone is reasonable suspicion. Are you really that stupid or is it just "keyboard courage"?

If kops think someone has committed a crime, chances are they will be arrested regardless of any id being asked for or shown.

But that is not what is being discussed here now is it?

Please, if you can, please stop talking stupidly. It is getting to be a chore to correct your dumb arse.

What is being discussed is not showing identification when it is requested. You use the word "stupidly", are you really Obama in disguise? He is the only moron that I know that uses that word. Who is the dumb arse now?
