Girl Scouts Threaten Lawsuit Over Unsold Cookies

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A Roanoke Rapids woman says the local Girl Scouts troop threatened to take her to court if she didn't pay up for boxes of cookies her 8-year-old daughter didn't sell.

Reagan Phillips wanted to quit the Girl Scouts a couple of weeks ago because other girls in her troop were teasing her. So her mother, Jherrae Phillips, tried to return the 288 boxes of Girl Scout cookies they had promised to sell to the troop for other girls to sell.

"I didn’t think it would be a big deal to do that," Phillips said Monday.

Charlotte Bradley, the local cookie sales coordinator, didn't see it the same way, presenting Phillips with an ultimatum in text message.

One more reason to not support Girl Scouts.

Well in addition to supporting the abortion mill, Planned Parenthood, looks like this little girl friendly organization thrives on terrorist tactics.

I personally will never again purchase any Girl Scout cookies.

Who knew that selling cookies could get so complicated.

5:06, girl scout organization made the very complicated when they embraced planned parenthood who kill babies by the thousands each year; the largest abortion provider in the world and decided to allow lesbian leaders and promote lesbianism in their literature. NO Surprise here. Most people will not go along with these poor, low life choices...

Unless the parent of the child signed some form of contract they can return the cookies and money from the sales and good luck suing anyone. That said the parent should teach their child what responsibility means and go door to door with her to sell these things. Its called parenting.

I don't think forcing your child to "obey" this bogus authority is called parenting.

Good parenting is teaching your child to stand up for what is right. Just because you join a club doesn't mean you are obligated to it when it turns out to be a freak show.

She is leaving due to bullying, so stand up for your child and leave. teach her to control her own destiny instead of kowtowing.

GS are doing themselves in with this type of ham-handed response.

PP connection just assures 1) fewer scouts down the road 2) fewer scouts from families disgusted with PP linkage. Fail-Fail!

I've always like the cookies and used to pre-order quite a few. Skyrocketing prices in recent years had me reducing my purchases. PP linkage puts an end to my patronage.

Perhaps the bully masquerading as the leader of this troop could contact her local PP to buy up the contested cookies. PP could hand them out with the rest of their propaganda.

Sad, sad, sad!

I will never buy another box of Girl Scout cookies for all the above reasons. Anyway they are way to overpriced.
