In all, 136 licenses have been approved by the state of Colorado for retail operations for the purposes of selling marijuana. A majority of those licenses were issued to businesses in Denver with just eighteen city stores completing the process in time for opening day. One of those shops, Rite Greens, located on E. Colfax Ave in Denver, has taken the steps needed to accept food stamps (now called EBT cards) for the purposes of purchasing marijuana effectively leading to taxpayer funded marijuana for welfare recipients.
“If you are a tax payer in Colorado, you get to pay for welfare recipients, a majority of whom are Democrats of course, to smoke pot now,” stated Denver resident Paul Horner. “Where will this all end? First it was Obamaphones, then Obamacare, now Obamaweed? Will we be paying for tattoos, manicures, body piercings, gay marriages and porn next?”

State makes money, all about money.
If this is going to be the case then we need to look into the actual medical properties of pot, and use the hemp in industrial applications.
It doesn't look like anybody is looking any further than smoking it.

In colorado, u can grow ur own, and there is lots of growing interest in the medicinal properties of cannabis and the endocannabinoid system. Until recently the us government has only funded studies that highlight marijuana as a dangerous, deadly, and highly addictive drug.
They don't get any tax from growing your own tomatoes or brewing your own beer.
Speaking of taxpayers buying drugs for addicts, I wonder how much PRMC is profiting off its methadone program?

I don't care what anyone says, we shouldn't be housing people in jail for only having a preference to good bud rather than craft beers. I do not like the affects of alcohol and stopped drinking many years ago.
It's a chance for many new businesses to open and provide many jobs in a new industry at a time when or economy needs a boost. Colorado and Seattle are calling it the Green Rush, comparing it's economic boost to the Gold Rush in 1849.
The tourist business in both states is skyrocketing out of control with people that want to visit from long distance. Talk about a destination? Like Colorado needed something else to want to go there, Amsterdam is going to be taking big losses, why go?

I got a little off topic at 2:37, while I'm glad it's finally happening and will create jobs, I don't condone the use of the EBT cards for purchasing it.
I've been keeping up with what's going on out there and you can grow up to 6 plants at one time. Allowed possession of 2 ounces on person.
I'm thinking the edibles they make for people that don't want to smoke it is a loophole that will have to be changed. It's one of the things you don't think of, every living thing that could go wrong.
I'm sure that is just a loophole that is only temporary and EBT cards will be the same as purchasing alcohol, right now, technically they are buying cookies and brownies.
That's why it needs to be regulated, but legal.
I'm on the EBT program and I be damn if I want to see tax-paying citizen foot this bill. I've work too hard, for so long and experiencing a little bit of hard time to see this form of abuse. All welfare and EBT participants should be tested for illegal drug use. And, if they are positive, they should be denied these programs.

If this marijuana "rollout" was anything like Obamacare, EBT would be the least of their worries. If that's the only hitch in the giddy-up I'd say they did a good job. Make needed adjustments.
