(CNSNews.com) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.), whose salary is $193,400 a year, said he has purchased a health care plan through the D.C. Obamacare exchange and that he is accepting the federal subsidy that can run up up to $11,378 per year for a member of Congress to purchase a plan on that exchange.
“I’m just like 150 million other people in America,” Reid said. “My employer helps me pay for my health care.”

A great big BS to Harry Reid!
What an idiot!
Did he really say that out loud?
Why do you people keep voting in these clueless idiots.
What a POS.
Here is another thing wrong with Obamacare. I am a single white female, fiftyish, who has only had a part time job for the past two and half years. My annual salary last year was $12,500 approx. I went on the exchange just out of curiosity to see what it would recommend for me. I live in Delaware. I did not enter all of my information because I don't plan to sign up anyway but I was curious. It said I would either be eligible for Medicaid (which pays basically nothing) if my state participates (which it doesn't), or I could get a silver plan for a cost of approx 5500.00 per year. The federal subsidies would pay approx. 5200.00 per year and I would pay 300.00 per year.
So they will pay 5200.00 of my insurance bill with a 12500.00 income. And they will pay 11,378.00 of Mr. Reid's insurance bill with an income of 193,400.00. Huh!!
Oh well, I didn't sign up. Don't intend to sign up. They can go ahead and fine me 10% of my measly income. All part of the "wealth distribution plan" right.
Two and a half years ago I made 40,000.00 a year and had insurance and drove a new car. I guess I had too much. Now I drive a 20 year old vehicle. I pay for all of my medications out of my pocket. And if I get a catastrophic illness I guess I'll just die. Then someone else who used to have a real job can have my part time job to help with the "wealth distribution." I thank God daily that I am fiftyish and have no kids so I don't have to worry about what the world is going to be like for my kids. Because I think what is coming is going to be horrendous. Thanks for listening.
DR (better not sign my real name on this one. The Obama police are out looking for people who haven't signed up for their program.)
And they probably wanted 12:51 to buy maternity coverage, too, even though she admits to being "fiftyish".
Of course they do! I'm a 62 year old man and if I purchase insurance on the exchange it's mandatory that I have maternity coverage. Go figure.
How on earth can he be eligle for a subsidy with that income?

Know that you are not alone.
I have no job, so I do not qualify for a subsidy. Because I have some savings I do not qualify for Medicaid. SO I would have to pay $11,000 a year including a deductible. Which means no money to pay the bills. I am choosing the penalty.
Reid can kiss my.....
It's a special deal for them, thanks to obammie..

Under Obamacare -- as it is being implemented under a regulation issued by the White House Office of Personnel Management (OPM) -- a middle-aged member of Congress who earns an annual salary of $174,000 from the taxpayers, and who has a wife and children, will get a $10,000 subsidy from the taxpayers (over and above his $174,000 salary) to buy a health insurance plan that a regular citizen making almost $80,000 less than the congressman will not get.
Members of Congress and their staff who will have to get their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act would continue to receive a government contribution toward premiums next year but only if they enroll in a specific ACA plan, under a revised Obama administration policy unveiled Monday.
Americans in the private sector who buy health insurance through the Obamacare exchanges only get a federal subsidy (a tax credit) if their income/family situation is below 400% of poverty, the ceiling for which is $94,200 for a family of four.
If they surpass that 400% level, then no subsidy. Theoretically, a family bringing in $174,000, like a member of Congress, would have to have 12 children dependents to even be eligible for a subsidy under the Obamacare rules.
