Proposed AP World History Textbook Available For Review

Members of the community are welcome to visit the Board of Education Office through July 3 to review the Ways of the World: A Global History with Sources (2nd Edition) textbook that is under consideration for Advanced Placement (AP) World History classes.

The Board of Education approved the textbook on 1st reading at its June Board meeting, and is expected to have the 2nd and final reading and vote at the July 9 Board meeting. Copies of the textbook are available for review at the Board weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through July 3. Please ask for Mary Kay Morgan at the main desk. Reviewers are asked to fill out an evaluation form for the textbook.

The members of the AP World History Textbook Selection Committee proposed the adoption of Bedford St. Martin's textbook Ways of the World authored by Robert Strayer for use in all AP World History classes. The Curriculum Council reviewed the proposal and recommended that the textbook be presented to the Board for approval.

For additional information, please call Lori Bock, supervisor of Social Studies, at 410-677-4511.

if you have a child that will use this book, you should be on this now.
