On Wednesday, Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewisplaced the blame for Chicago’s failing schools right where it belongs: on “rich white people.” Speaking to a luncheon on education reform, Lewis said that Chicago is the most segregated city in America, and that the educational failures in certain areas of Chicago are attributable to the “fact that rich white people think they know what’s in the best interest of children of African-Americans and Latinos, no matter what the parents’ income or education level.” She added that there needs to be “an honest conversation about poverty and racism and inequality that hinders the delivery of an education product in our school system.”

The 3 richest white people in the country are all DEMOCRATS. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Larry Ellison. Of the top 20 richest individuals 60% are DEMOCRAT. Is this grotesque Union President accusing her beloved Democrats of ruining the schools?

Taxpayers are giving free housing,free food and free phones to millions who have no intention of doing anything but producing children. When those kids see no reason to get an education or a job, wonder why it's the fault of the taxpayers. Cut welfare.

Wow! That is some seriously flawed 'reasoning' (not the best word). Poverty, racism and inequity are to blame for the hindering of the delivery of an education product to the school system?
The segregation that they speak of is voluntary...on both sides.
You can't live in the good neighborhoods if all you do is reproduce for more cheese!
There are plenty of examples of folks that got a job, got a better education, and left poverty.
Quit your whining, get a job, get better educated, get off the dole, and earn your way out...then you'll be an example to all those you left behind!
