National Rifle Association executive vice president and CEO Wayne LaPierre continued speaking out against President Obama’s recent gun control proposals Saturday night, zeroing in on “the real consequences of background checks,” according to the NRA.
The organization has been targeted by many on the left in the wake of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary last December. While the NRA argues that more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens creates a safer community, many in the administration and on the left disagree, saying it leads to more gun violence and accidental deaths.
Most recently, the NRA has been publicizing a memo it by from the Justice Department that says the success of universal background checks would depend in part on “requiring gun registration,” and says gun buybacks would not be effective “unless massive and coupled with a ban.”

It is the EXACT same course of events we saw in Russia, Germany and China where registration led to confiscation. History has proved the consequences.
The "progressive" movement in this country obviously is after the same results.
There is no such thing as gun control. It is merely typical democrat spin for PEOPLE control.
Molon Labe!
Think back. MLK and JFK were both killed with guns. Never once did you hear about taking your guns away. We are hearing it now because we have a Hitler want-a-be in the White House.
That's silly. If the gov't wants our guns it will send troops to come get them...that's how it was done in Russia and China and Germany and pre-Revolutionary America.
Do you honestly think the gov't is stupid enough to believe that only registered guns are available in this country? Do you honestly think they will be content with us saying, "I don't have a gun"? If it comes down to it, search and seizure will happen regardless of any background checks conducted.
There is going to be a revolt, both sides are prepping. The government is obviously ready and stengthening their position with munitions and enforced gun confiscation laws. The people are doing what they can while they can as evidenced by the shortage of guns and ammunition.
