Maryland To Fund Gambling Addiction Programs

With two casinos operating in Maryland and more on the horizon, state officials on Thursday unveiled new programs — including training counselors and promoting a toll-free help line — to strengthen the social safety net for people addicted to betting.

I read the full article. Opting in to this Program permits the State to confiscate any winnings that a participant may realize. Great for the State but doesn't this just bring the grief to the gambling addict faster?
