HB 1162 - 2004 General Assembly Session

In this age of 'smoke and mirrors' it does not surprise me that the eastern shore is sometimes 'duped' by those claiming to be conservatives.

Here is tax increasing piece of legislation that was voted on by some of our so called conservatives.  In retrospect they did not realize that it significantly contributed to our local unemployment rates escalation to the levels we are now presently experiencing.

I've also provided a link to the House and Senate role call votes where one noted conservative -  Andy Harris - also voted for the legislation.

Delegate Page Elmore -(God bless his sole) - held to the conservative party ground and voted against the tax increasing legislation.

For all of those readers who may have contributed to the campaigns of some of these officials - maybe you should recheck your returned check stubs as a reminder of how you easy it is to be duped.

Joe - This is another example of excellent investigative reporting.
It is what I typically call 'holding their feet to the fire' type of reporting.

I hope all of your reading audience sees this. I can guarantee you that The Daily Times will never report this type of activity. The DT would rather cover the Republican and Democratic crab feast.

I wish I had this information before I attended his fund raiser. I'll be the first to admit - I didn't know about this. But you can bet his office will hear from me first thing tomorrow morning.

Joe - if you look at the Senate role call votes you'll notice that Lowell Stolzfus also voted against HB-1162.

I wish I had known about this type of behavior before the election.

for all those that have eyes, legislation says....

A development excise tax may not be imposed under this section, in the 22 counties that imposes a development impact fee.

Twelve counties currently impose either an impact fee or excise tax. Two other counties (Garrett and Wicomico) are also authorized to impose impact fees;

This was FOR Caroline at the REQUEST of the CCC.

This piece of legislation is not even (as far as I can tell) in effect in Wicomico.

Further, the teachers had a letter writing campaign about this. They were screaming bloody murder FOR it!

and check out this gem

(b) (1) The county commissioners shall deposit development excise taxes in
26 an account known as the "educational facilities improvement fund".

the other inside baseball trick that all you people need to know about is that in order for ANY legislation to get passed in this state, the democrats that RULE in an overwhelming majority in the state legislature have made the republicans sign off on "piles" like this in order to get ANY pro gun stuff passed.

It works like this

Democrats running Annapolis say,

"Hey Mike one of the republican shiksas over on the eastern shore wants a piece of legislation passed. How can we get them to screw themselves?"

"Wait Mike those annoying teachers that circle my rear like the eighth planet want even more money, get the union boss on the phone and have him start hitting on the republicans like the popular girl at her first keg party. Those Republicans have been moaning about castle doctrine forever we'll pass that, look like heroes to the rank and file repugnants and then later screw the repub legislators with the legislation we forced them to vote up to get what we wanted"

(insert Dr. Evil laugh)

cue the alternative shirtless
alco-hoe-lics brigade salivating and striking themselves on the head like a bunch of bhurkas at a martyrs funeral, our children are at risk..YI YIYYI YIII YIYI YI!!!!

Then of course when the complicit lame media shows techers at the wailing wall 24 and 7 the MDGOP Republican Shiksas go...

"what do we do? uuhhhh uuhhhh, yeah, ok, lets get castle doctrine passed, sign off on the tax thing but we'll try to give ourselves an out because dems never actually read the legislation"

or some such...

and that is how it works in Annapolis folks, not a single piece of legislation EVER gets passed in that town, unless the Democrats want it or don't.

If you like it or don't, there's only one party to blame, and that is the party of Jim Ireton, and all the other hard core progressives in this town.

Here wait, before I go, I'll pretend I'm a democrat so that my comment will get printed.

"Oh my, I gave all that money to Andy Harris, I never would have done that if I would have known how damaging this legislation is to our local economy, next time I'm voting for Frank Kratovil"

I have thought about changing my party. The two major parties - (Repub. & Dem.) - are now so corrupt that one can hardly distinguish between the two.

Either one of the parties just wants to tickle their constituencies ears.

Reference to 4:42

A few months ago I had to pay Wicomico $5,200 in order for me to even be able to apply for the building permit. Then, Wicomico charged me $1024 for the building permit and that didn't include the $120 made out to wicomico County health Department for the well permit fee. Then I had a septic fee.

Bottom line - if I had to do over again I wouldn't have even tried to build the dang house as all of these expenses have surpassed the price of the building materials. And people wonder why the unemployment is so high in the construction industry. It is a no brainer - there is no building because of the price of regulatory fees.

Thanks Joe

This shows that it doesn't matter which party you vote for. The parties do not serve we the people. They are working for someone other than voters.

Both parties are controlled by the same entities.

5:51 I absolutely agree.

Both parties are on the take and have been been for some time now. Special interest have ruined our locality. This is a prime example of a party gone-a-muck.

Solution - Tea Party

A group of people who are looking very closely at the RECORDS of candidates running for office. They do not affiliate with either the R or the D's but rather the candidate whose character, integrity and history dictate endorsement.

Even if you don't want to affiliate with Tea Party WE THE PEOPLE should be looking beyond the R and D and voting for honest candidates.
