Accident Scene On Rt. 13 In Salisbury Last Night
Simpson's Towing became a victim last night of a vehicle traveling down Rt. 13 allegedly doing 70 mph hitting one of their heavy duty wreckers and possibly totalling both vehicles. To replace the vehicle would cost around $80,000.00. It took about 30 minutes for Firefighters to get the driver out of his vehicle and from what we have learned the driver was alive when they pulled him out. The wrecker is still at the location because it is where it is housed on Simpson's lot.

When will people learn...It is not woth your life or an innocent person's life, just to get "there" sooner.
great work by the Salisbury station 2 volunteers for the quick extrication
My thoughts are with the family.
And the city council thinks 200 dollars is sufficient to clean up all that mess? Sure buddy. Accidents like these are the prime example why towing and recovery prices should not be capped.
Shortly after this accident there was another one on Pwellville Road at the pond. The driver of that vehicle slammed the guard rail and left it in the road. Open containers littered the ground and were located inside the jacked up Ford F350. THE BEST PART IS THAT IT IS REGISTERED TO A NEWARK FIREMAN. It has a Newark F.D. tag on it.
Seriously? A fireman? Come on guys...He makes you all look bad in my opinion. He's lucky my wife and kids, or anyones' for that matter, had not been hit by this clown. I hope some serious sanctions are to follow for this individual.
I was told the driver of the vehicle was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for his injuries....
12:24- I'm not surprised he was flown to shock trauma. From the noise I heard 3 blocks away, it soulded like an explosion
Anyone know what happend at the wonder bread store last night? Cops and fire trucks were there around 8:30
The driver was in very critical condition. I saw him up close, however, my little bit of first aid training was nowhere near enough to help. In spite of his poor decisions...whether traveling too fast, or driving while sleepy or under the influence, I simply pray for his recovery. I am grateful for our firefighters and emergency personnel. They are our heroes.
I'm sorry that the person was in the accident. We were leaving the Eagles and the car came FLYING down Rt. 13. I heard the 'bang' and I told my friend that I think the car just crashed. There was too much traffic out at that time for anyone to be traveling at that rate of speed. The driver chose to take a risk and hurt him/her self. I hope no one else was injured. Melody K

I think the Delmar Fire Department played a big part in this extrication.

my apologies to the crew of rescue 74 for not mentioning them on the first post. removing the trapped patient was a combined effort involving firefighters and EMS personal from Salisbury and Delmar. good job to all the personal involved on this incident.
Sure hope the innocent fellow will be okay.
Prayers going out to the victim. Hope he learns a valuable lesson. If not, he may not be around the next time or if he is may have to live w/the consequences the rest of his life.
I pray that the victim wasn't intentionally doing this. Life is so presious. No one or no thing is worth taking your life. I pray for his recovery.
I love it when somany people leave their two cents on something that they have facts about.
This is my brother. I have not heared all the facts yet. Yes, the accident could have been for any of the reason mention. But until I hear all of the facts I will not be jumping to conclusion. After all it could have been caused by a number of things not mention. I would like to think everyone who help him & those who is praying for him.
Any word on this crash? Is the driver alive? Will he recover?
