Very large house fire on the corner of Lincoln Ave and South Division Street. The fire has expanded to a second building. All of Salisbury's Fire Departments are on the scene. Neighboring Fire Departments are covering the Salisbury area.

We have hebron and Delmar.....BIG 16 fro salisbury and everything else they can bring.

Fire departments are leaving now the police arrive..there was no police here to put up blockades to keep out the traffic. cars are attempting to BACK out...and that dont look pretty.
See the Salisbury Fire Department can run just fine without an outsider for fire chief. Thanks Jim Ireton and the city council for NOTHING!!

large house that was cut up bad. We had station 16 station 1 station 2 station 5 hebron station 6 parsonburg station 3 fruitland station 74 delmar and we had our work cut out. It was well workin lets say that!!!
Fire hydraunts weren't working properly county engines laid hose to better working hydraunts for water. Gas pipe was feeding the fire in middle of house. A man jumped to safety out of his second floor apartment. I watched as the fire wouldn't go out. SFD did a good job
the fire hydrant down by Harris Produce Market wouldnt turn on. i guess it was rusted shut, so much for the flushes they do.
6:39 post you know when you have a large fire that is 2 feet away from another house and its starting to lite and the first dispatch was for a couch out side and it wasnt that it was the house that just will say why we need more help for the 2nd house cause it was startin to burn a little so intill you know your facts just dont say anything at all please.
wow lots of excuses for why the fire wouldn't go out. Maybe new leadership can help teach people to be firemen
Wow is all I can say listened to the whole thing the new fire chief has his work cut out for him. There is no reason why the chief officer in charge should have to tell company officers what line to pull, where to lay out from, where to stick the building to throw ground ladders all the basic stuff the best firmen in the county should all ready know. Im sure all the retards involved are still high fiving each others for burning another house down. But guess much isn’t going to change with a new fire chief that is all about ems.
It sounded like they were running out of air bottles so they could fight the fire. They were calling for more air bottle to the scene.
Joe thank god the main 2 story portion of the house was block construction and not wood or the fire would had been so much worse.
too all the people saying the firemen were not able to put out the fire, youre all cowards and have no idea what it takes to put out a house fire. All you basement dwellers sit on your computer and try to critique something you know nothing about. One day your house may catch fir and while youre outside crying and calling 911 guess who is coming to run into your burning house to save your stuff and possible family members? Well Ill tell you Im sure it wont be you. It will be the firemen of the SFD. When they do run into your house and put the fire out how about you just say thankyou.

What makes you think the firefighers and paramedics are going to be impressed with the new "chief."
It is truly amazing that when the SFD does do their jobs you people still find something to gripe about. The majority reasoning for calling multiple units outside the SFD was for water supply issues. The SFD did already have 2 supply lines laid in the street along with multiple hose lines, but when you get a small amount of water from both hydrants you need to go somewhere else. There also was a separate structure involved in the fire so of course there would have to be more crews on the scene to work the second structure as the initial crews were working the first. As far as the commanding officer telling incoming units what to do. That is his job. He gives orders and the crews follow them. He was on the scene before any capital piece got on scene and came up with a plan of attack on it. So as units arrived he instructed on what he wanted. As far as telling other crews where to drop the LDH.... Its the job of initial crews to spot out hydrants for best use as well as leaving access for other incoming units and that's what he did. It is obvious that the people on here don't know anything of the fire service. As far as half the county fire departments battling this blaze... Check your facts. There was just 3 outside fire companies on the scene . The rest were transferred to the three Salisbury stations to cover for any additional calls. Check your facts. The SFD did a great job with all things considering in this fire. Staffing issues, Hydrant problems. High winds, Exposures. Do your self a favor all you self pro-claimed experts in firefighting. Stop by a book store and pick up firefighter basic and a fire tactic book. You could learn a lot from them. This is all said from a firefighter that has nothing to do with the SFD or any county fire dept. I heard it all from my scanner in B-more City.
WELL PUT ANON 10:12!!! Anytime it comes to SFD people always want to ridicule them. People on here do not have any idea what's involved in a structural fire attack.
Now I don't know anything about this fire but as far as the chief giving orders on where to lay out and what line to pull and where to put ladders because he got there first, it isn't his job. I know if I'm driving the wagon at work it's my job to know where the hydrant is I'm going to use and if I'm running the line to know what line is needed without the chief or my officer telling me what to pull. The incident commander should be ordering units to complete a task not telling them how to do it.
SFD good job containing the fire to only two houses (always could have been worse), and good job in utilizing mutual aid in the worst case scenario where all city units are tied up on a scene.
My chimney had a fire or a lot of sparks coming from it a couple of years ago... the salisbury fire dept came and did an awesome job and were very good people.

Well said but you have to excuse some of the people around here. Some are just ignorant and some just hate this site and Joe.
Some pets were lost in fire but it got contained.
If THESE PEOPLE would put HALF the energy they use in bitching and moaning into something positive, this city would be far better off.
The SFD is a joke. They aren't the only ones who've gone into fires. And, running into a fire does NOT make you a hero either. Fire (no pun intended) em all and let the chief start with a new crew and make a professional team that will just SERVE. You guys have done nothing but act like cry babies for 20 years. Stop already!
It seems to me SFD needs some work on fireground operations, I see alot of excuses as to why the fire would not go out. Blame it on the hydrants, building layout, gas fed fire and best of all nobody watching knows about fireground operations! Well what about good truck and engine work.... maybe the trucks should have controled the utilities better or the wagon driver or OIC know a little bit more about the hydrants and mains avoiding some of the water supply problems. 24hrs a day and 72 in between allows for plenty of drill time or riding your area between shifts, but of course being a firefighter is just about the paycheck and schedule not about learning your job!
That house was just completely redone within the past few years and was looking really nice..shame. Did it affect the Chiropractor behind it?
I saw an angle that was much more interesting. As the P.I.O approached the scene she was smoking a cigarette. She never smokes. The large dark sunglasses covered her eyes from view. She was chewing gum during the interview of WBOC which was priceless. Was this person hiding something ? Did they come from the Turtle or the wine fest ? See no evil.Hear no evil. Tell no evil. Thats why Hoppes aint chief.
