why do the firemen make it such a big deal ?
come on , shut down rt 50 , why not just pull in put the fire out and go on down the road.
Route 50 did not need to be shut down , these people dont know what there doing , get people to go put out the fire instead of trying to look good.

They did pull in. Unfortunately, not all the apparatus fit in the parking lot. Not to mention the fact that tankers had to shuttle in water because there are no hydrants in that area. Perhaps you should understand the fire service, or volunteer for yourself, before making such comments.

it is also a general safety issue. bypassers tend to slow down to look at the scene (not the road) which exponentially increases the risk for other traffic accidents while they are working on the structure fire.

as 1016 said, perhaps you should volunteer or gain some understanding of fire ops and logistics before you start monday-morning quaterbacking it

Impact Home Theatre. Isn't this the business that has all the Hummers? I wondered how a business like that in these times could afford Hummers, instead of economical pick-ups or vans. Maybe they couldn't. hint hint.

10:16, sounds like your house or some other properties burned down, and you are pissed at the Fireman, GROW UP.

The only pictures of the fire I could find. Good job!

More likely it was caused by contractors installing something wrong.

with previous experience in dealing with impact home theater employees i always felt as if they believed that they were better than everyone else. but that aside, by any means, if my house catches a fire, shut down whatever. your services are greatly appreciated by me fire depts.

10:48 Obviously you know NOTHING about that business. They are doing great and offer a wide variety of services. If you've ever met them or been in there you would see why!!! And they do have other trucks that aren't Hummers. If you were actually at the fire yesterday AS I WAS you would know they didn't have any fire damage just smoke/water. the fire started at the other end!!! Get ur facts straight before you write as it could cause innocent people harm.

I have to admit, at the time, I wondered why rt 50 needed to shut down, but now that the above comments explained why, it makes perfect sense.

Yeah I agree with 1:29 Impact Home Theater is a very honest company.. those hummers as far as I know are also leased.. they are the H3 hummers not the big H2 or the real deal H1. and there are only two of them. I think they can afford it lol. but regardless I really dislike how people jump on to there always being some untold truth or scheme behind everything.

Always wondered myself about how guys at Impact stay afloat. Driving around flashy vehicles, renting or owning a space that can't be cheap...all while doing sub-standard work (I've heard from several people) while charging way over retail for the electronics they push. I also heard one of the Impact guys had some pyro history when they were a teen. Oh well, just glad no one was hurt.

Impact Treats me good! Awesome service and they are better than most audio/video comp.

They shut Rt. 50 down because they called stations like fenwick, dagsboro, etc to bring in there water trucks. Also the roof collapsed so they had a hard time getting the fire put out. Can you imagine all the people passing by not paying attention and how many more accidents there could have been if they hadnt shut down Rt 50.

Actually it seems to be before and during!

That first post (8:51 AM) can't really be serious. I was on the scene about 30-40 minutes after the alarm, and was incredibly impressed at the coordination of all the different jurisdictions and emergency personnel that arrived at the fire.
Route 50 eastbound absolutely HAD to be closed. Not only to control the 'looky-lou's' (like me!), but also it enabled the apparatus to use the open lanes westbound to get the tankers - and water - to the fire.
As a citizen, I was once again proud of our very dedicated members of the area's fire departments, and all the emergency crews that gave support.

It is very unfair that you would make such statements about Impact Audio if you have not done business with them. They installed equipment in our home as well as our business. Their work is fantastic. These guys are are honest, professional, friendly and a pleasure to do business with!

I can't believe the petty people who would make comments without knowing the facts. Maybe they can afford hummers because they know how to use their money wisely. Maybe your too busy spending your money on gambling, booze, drugs, flashy meals or vacations, otherwise you could be driving one too!!!

Soft Richard for life!

The car payment (or lease payment) on those Hummers is no more than any other payment on a vehicle big enough to transport TV's and other large audio video equipment. Would you rather them buy a beater and put their logo on that? I bet you wouldn't use their company if they did. Plus, they have had those Hummers since before the economy took a dump. They are probably paid off by now. And for all the people saying they probably started the fire, THEIR SPACE NEVER CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!! Get a life people. Stop attacking a good company.

Impact does good work. They have done extensive work at my house and everything works fine. The one time I did have a problem they were over immediately to fix it. They also work all the time. Several times they were at my house from early in the morning until 8 or 9pm. They also have several other vehicles that aren't hummers. They have a huge old white van that is definitely not top of the line but no one says anything about that. So to those who are jealous becuase they can't afford nice things, you need to shut up and and get over it. These men work hard.

I have a relationship with Impact audio since 2008. The have done everything from ordering electronic components for me to major installation infrastructure. Always done on time and at or below budget. I am surprised that in a time when clearly a community should be supporting a local business, many people decided to criticize. I feel personally embarrassed for those people.

I am looking forward to seeing Impact new and improved showroom, and I am encouraged to hear that the are doing business as usual.

If anyone is interested in hearing first hand about Impacts professionalism, and terrific service, you can email me at me @ colinrcampbell.com
