Single Car Fatal Crash

Location: Clendaniel Pond Road, S/O Fleatown Road, 2 miles south of Lincoln

Delaware State Police are investigating a single car crash that claimed the life of a Lincoln man.

The crash happened when the Chevrolet Venture was traveling northbound on Clendainel Pond Road today at 6:15 p.m. For unknown reasons the mini van exited the east edge of roadway prior to striking a large tree. The impact was so forceful that the engine compartment was forced into the front passenger compartment area.

Parks, who was driving, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The roadway was closed from approximately 3 hours until the crash could be cleared.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is on going and its is unknown if alcohol was involved.
