OCPD CHIEF NAMED TO INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Ocean City Police is proud to announce that Chief Bernadette A. DiPino has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. IACP President Michael Carroll is a frequent visitor to Ocean City and selected Chief DiPino for this position. This appointment to the IACP Executive Committee is an extremely prestigious honor afforded to chiefs of police who demonstrate exemplary leadership as well as progressive law enforcement programs. Chief DiPino is one of only 33 law enforcement executives appointed to the board. The Executive Committee is the policy making body of the IACP and is responsible for developing the means by which the association provides leadership in the world of law enforcement. Her appointment is to fill the “Cities under 10,000 Population” position through the 2010 term. The IACP mission is to advance professional police service; promote enhanced administrative, technical, and operational police practices; foster cooperation and the exchange of information and experience among police leaders and police organizations of recognized professional and technical standing throughout the world; champion the recruitment and training of qualified persons in the police profession; and, encourage all police personnel worldwide to achieve and maintain the highest standards of ethics, integrity, community interaction, and professional conduct.
