Hello, my name is Kristin Williams of Salisbury, MD.
I was wondering if you could publish something for my father and husband. They are currently starting their own business at 1600 N. Salisbury Blvd, Salisbury, MD 21801 called Clyde's Car & Light Truck Repair.
I know with the economy the way it is, it may not appear like the best time to be branching off and starting their own shop, however we hope enough people know them, and appreciate their hard work that they will be able to continue serving salisbury for years to come.
Clyde Nichols, the owner of the business has been a mechanic all of his life, and
previously managed a local shop for 35 years. He is well known for his hard
work, and way with people. He is excited to be opening his own shop, and being
able to do the hands on aspect of it. Along with himself, Harlan Williams,
another local mechanic will be working with him in the shop. Harlan was a
graduate of the parkside vocational program for automotive repair, and has been working in the field ever since. Together the two of them hope to offer quality work at competitive and reasonable prices.
Since your blogs are a favorite of myself, and fellow co-workers, I was hoping you could make the public aware of the new business coming to salisbury to give them a start. They are currently cleaning, painting, and bringing the shop up to date, and are trying to open by November 16th.
While we are making flyers, and spreading the word via mouth, I felt you could reach more of the public in a quick way. Thank you for any help you can give.

Best wishes to Clyde in his new endeavor. I've known Clyde since he was a kid, and even as a longtime auto repair professional. I would have no qulams whatsoever having him work on my family vehicles. Wish I lived closer by so I could patronize his business.

I had some trouble with him at his other place, glad he is gone. cant wait to start going back to his previous employment. I really liked car care. any clue if they have a new person at car care?

The location is next to Bob Lawrence's Budget Truck Rental (on the corner next to Pep-Boys; in front of the car wash).
Clyde is a good guy. His partner is his son-in-law. His new location is perfect. He will draw customers from Car Care and Pep Boys.

I don't know what you do but perhaps I should avoid patronizing anything you are associated with because I heard that you married an ugly woman.

Sounds like everybody loved him. I would definitely go to the new shop. Maybe the negative comments are from his past employer, because it sounds like they may lose a lot of business!! Good luck Clyde!!
Clyde is a good man. He stood by Car care for many years and even while the owners went through a divorce. Clyde hung in there and carried on business as usual. He has always been polite and nice to me. I am glad Clyde is opening his own place. This is suppose to be a new begining not a way for some to make nasty remarks. Good Luck Guys!!!
I wonder what is going on at Car Care since it seems that they are not the only ones that have left. I understand a few others have gone to the Car Store. It is my knowledge that there are not many very dedicated knowledgable people left at Car Care. Hope Harlan and Clyde do well with there new business.
For those who feel Clyde was not fair to everyone who visited CarCare, I think you probably didn't deserve to be treated professionally-you probably were a jerk yourself. No one (but a jerk) would be so quick to call someone else that. He doesn't need your type of business anyway!
Clyde has always been a good person,I have known the Nichols family all my life, Clyde's father was one of the best and most respected mechanics in Delmar for years. Clyde follows in his footsteps on how to treat his customers. He should have started his own business years ago. Good luck to him and Harlan.
From a current Car Care employee:
We wish Clyde all the best in his new endeavor. He was with Car Care a long time and was an excellent manager. However, there are a couple of things being said here that do need to be corrected. We lost "one" employee to the Car Store and we have replaced that employee with someone who is doing a great job. Secondly, there are still "many" great employees at Car Care. Clyde was a manager at Car Care--it is not like we lost "all" of our mechanics when he left. There is a new manager starting at Car Care and he is not new to the "automotive industry" and hopefully everyone will stop by and meet him and form your own opinions about him. We think he is a good fit for the company. I wasn't going to comment on this post because it was about Clyde's new business and wishing him well, but there is no need to leave misconceptions about Car Care either. Good luck to you Clyde.

Well this is a great idea for them to open up a new business in Salisbury!! They will do just fine!! I already know alot of customers that said they would only go where they are working. They want to have the best service in Salisbury!! Good luck and I know you two will do well!
For those of you that are bashing these guys.. must have them mixed up with the owners.. they are 2 outstanding men and will do go at their jobs!
