The clunker crap was ridiculous. The estimated fuel savings for the program (removing those vehicles from the road) is $350,000,000 Yet WE spent $3 Billion for it !! Most of those people would have bought anyway. All it accomplished is to help screw up the used car market so the people that REALLY need help will have to pay more for the cars they have to buy. Most of them could not qualify for new cars !!!
Soon the dealers will be crying for the Gov't to GIVE some more. AND just wait until everybody that got the $3500 - $4500 clunker money pay their taxes on it this year !! Add that to the tax increases that are coming to help pay for the program and all the other b/s bailouts and we'll all be broke.
