Incident: First Degree Assault
Date of Incident: 15 June 2008
Location: 800 Block of Booth Street, Salisbury, MD
Suspects: Tomas Gomez Torres, 23, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 15 June 2008 at 6:00 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office met with a complainant in the 800 block of Booth Street who reported an altercation with Tomas Torres. The complainant reported that Torres displayed a handgun and pointed that handgun at Torres and threatened to shoot the complainant. Deputies checked the area for Torres but were unable to locate him, therefore a warrant charging Torres with First Degree assault was issued. On 23 June 2008, Torres surrendered himself at the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.
Torres was taken to the Central Booking Unit at the Wicomico County Detention Center where he was processed and charged with First Degree Assault. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Torres was held on $75,000.00 bond.
Incident: Disorderly Conduct
Date of Incident: 23 June 2008
Location: 500 Block of N. Curlew Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspects: Lynette Marie Johnson, 31, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 23 June at 10:45PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office investigated an altercation in the 500 Block of N. Curlew Drive. While on location, one of the participants in the altercation, Lynette Johnson, refused to quit yelling or cursing at other individuals. The deputies were attempting to clarify what had happened in the altercation they were called to investigate, but were unable due to Johnson’s belligerent and loud behavior. After Johnson refused several requests to cease her unruly behavior, one of the deputies on the scene attempted to place Johnson under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Johnson actively resisted the deputy’s attempt, pulled away and even grabbed a hold of the deputy herself. Johnson was eventually placed into restraints and transported to the Central Booking Unit at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
While at the Central Booking Unit, Johnson was processed and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Hindering and Assault on a Deputy. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Johnson was released on Personal Recognizance.
Incident: Attempted Arson
Date of Incident: 22 June 2008
Location: 100 Block of Shamrock Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspects: Deltez Keyon Jackson, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 22 June 2008, deputies responded to a report of a subject threatening to burn down a house on Shamrock Drive in Salisbury, MD. Upon arrival, they discovered that Deltez Keyon Jackson had poured gasoline throughout the first floor of his residence on Shamrock Drive. The deputies were clearly able to smell the odor of gasoline permeating through the air. After checking the residence, it was determined that Jackson had left prior to the arrival of the deputies. Investigation revealed that Jackson had an argument with some other individuals and it was during this that Jackson retrieved the gasoline, began pouring it throughout the house and threatened to light the house on fire.
Since the deputies were unable to locate Jackson, they obtained a warrant for his arrest. That warrant was served on 24 June 2008 and Jackson was subsequently taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center where he was processed and charged with attempted First Degree Arson. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Jackson was held on $20,000.00 bond in the Detention Center.

Booth st. isn't city's jurisdiction 3:17, so smart are we?
And these arrests are in county, not city jurisdiction.
Most likely Booth St. will become city's sooner or later. Because it's a low income high crime area. That means less tax dollars going into paychecks. Isn't this is what it's all about? Seems that way to all local officers.
Shamrock Drive is not in city limits and is patrolled by the county sheriff dept.

ok this is truly an "im an idiot" moment for 3:16 and 3:17! (notice im calling it an idiot MOMENT... not calling the writers an idiot) niether address listed on that post are within the city limits. there is, however, a section of booth st that is within the city. it is near the 500 block and goes down to the 100 block ending at the lake. i know this well because i patrolled it numerous times in the last few days. all the while protecting this thankless city for which im proud to work for!!! not for the money or the crime or the tons of people who seem to hate us.... No, i do it because i am commited to it and have a sense of pride for myself and my fellow brothers. im also proud of the wcso, msp, and every other jurisdition around because we are all brothers. "WE" all make this area safer and "WE" all do the best job around. crime will happen...that will not stop. it will happen in the city, the county, the state, the USA, the world, and yes even in your back yard. we do what we can to prevent but its a neverending and always happening event. lets start blaming the criminals for the crimes instead of the cops. lets start praising every jurisdiction who puts a bad guy off the street. lets maintain a positive mindset instead of bashing, blaming, and hating everyone for everything. these are my thoughts and mine alone. i speak for myself and no one else.

Why not patrol Railroad Avenue and get the prostitutes and Johns off that corner? It is unbelievable. Just park across or down the street and watch the activity. Where is the Salisbury Police Dept?
yeah well the guy is back on the street. his wife posted his bond. how bout that for a honeymoon stage. makes you wonder why people call the police in the first place if they are just going to undo what the police did to get a criminal off the street. he'll get his day in court, that is if he shows up.

This is such crap!!! Every single police agency works hard....there will always be something! In a perfect world there would be no crime, no prostitutes, etc. Wake up folks...this is not a perfect world! And with only 80 some city officers, they can't be everywhere! Thank you to the deputies for doing your job! Thank you city officers for doing your job, thank you troopers for doing your job....some of us realize you are doing the best you can!
Stop being so damned negative to any police agency. They all do good work, now if the judges would hit criminals where they need to be hit and states attorneys stop negotiating b.s. plea deals to avoid trials, then things would get better. We need Judge Horsey and Judge Simpson to run the courts and get them back and running. I sat in court one day where a guy tried to plea guilty and Judge Davis talked him into a jury trial. What a waste of time and money that just cost the state.

responding to the anonymous 7:15 pm...he is not a criminal first of all, and secondly you sound a little bitter like you know the guy or something. He happens to be a really good friend of mine and you don't know what you are talking about. Only GOD can judge. Have a blessed day.
I agree with TM in B-More, if you knew the whole story then you would not have a whole lot to say. There are 2 sides to each story so if his wife bailed him out so be it. He is a really good person and has a kind heart. Besides it was his house he was attempting to burn so what difference does it make.
