Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?
Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks and trailers are?
Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?
When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?
Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?
Where are all the looters?
Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism and shooting at helicopters? (which never happened in N.O. either, BTW)
Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates rural people?
How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

I have asked those same questions over and over again for the last few weeks.
Wonder if the difference could be a lack of "entitlement" by these hard working, mostly self sustaining communities.

Same reason you don't hear about Mississippi or Alabama or anyplace other than NO when it comes to Katrina any more. The people there know how to work and aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty.

You do realize, don't you, that there are more white people on government assistance than blacks? You do realize that a huge number of white folks around these parts leach off the taxpayers as much as the minorities you seem to despise. Yes you are right there are more whites than blacks on assistance.. HOWEVER.. if you look at the percent of whites and blacks on assistance the percent of blacks on assistance is higher.
