"Yesterday Jermaine S. Wright was released from ECI. He is a 33 years old, 5'7" tall, black and about 170 lbs. his physique is muscular. his registered address is West Road in Salisbury. This man is VERY dangerous. In 1992 he raped and killed a girl at one of the under 21 clubs in Ocean City. The dna evidence somehow became compromised so they had to let him go. He fled to NC where he raped two more women. he spent 3 years in prison down there. During that time, a circumstantial case was built against him for the rape/murder in 92. He was convicted of that and has spent the last 7 years at ECI. now he's free. he is considered a sexually violent predator. the authorities are 100% sure that his actual history involves many more rapes and possibly murders than are listed above. He seems to prefer white women with no particular pre fere nce to age or physique. he also entered the home of one of the NC victims during the day through an unlocked door. The warden is asking us to put the word out to all of our friends/family/everybody, to please be careful. Women need to keep their doors locked if they are in the house with no adult males. They need also refrain from going anywhere alone at night. this is a rapist and a murderer who has been locked up for the last 10 years. Statistically speaking, it is VERY probably that he will strike again within the next 30 days."

Man In Prison For O.C. Killing To Be Released
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) ―
A man sentenced to a 15-year term for killing a teenager in 1995 is scheduled to be released from prison on Friday, more than three years early, because of good behavior and education credits.
Jermaine Wright of Salisbury entered an Alford plea in 2001 in the slaying of Krista Ruggles, 16, of Ducansville, Pa. Ruggles was found strangled in Whaleyville.
In 1999, Wright was sentenced to life in prison plus 25 years. Wright, then 24, had been convicted the month before in Worcester County Circuit Court of first-degree murder, sodomy, robbery and assault and battery.
That conviction was overturned the following year by the Maryland Court of Special Appeals because jurors had seen newspaper articles about alleged attacks on other women.
In 2001, prosecutors agreed to an Alford plea in which Wright maintained his innocence, but admitted that the prosecution had enough evidence to convict him.
Wright was sentenced to 30 years, with 15 years suspended, and credit for time served. He earned 1,283 days off his sentence for good conduct, taking educational classes and participating in prison activities at Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover.
He will be on probation until 2012. Wright also must take part in a sexual offender treatment program upon his release.
Inmates earn credits for a variety of things, including good behavior and job credits, according to Mark Vernarelli, spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.
"That's not our policy, that's the law. We have to go by what the law says," Vernarelli said.
After she was killed, Krista's father, Larry Ruggles, began making presentations at schools, urging youngsters to be wary of strangers.
Sgt. Mike McDermott of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, who worked with state police in 1995 on the Ruggles case, told The (Salisbury) Daily Times, "The guy scares me, he really does. He's a guy who, based on past behavior, bears watching."

When was he released? I notice in the news that a 93 yr old woman was assaulted in the Food Lion parking lot on Snow Hill Road recently.

If they are allowing murdurers/ rapists to roam free in our community, at the very least they need to allow women to carry concealed weapons.

The news did make it public before he was released. Mike Lewis even made comments about his releasing. Its been on the net, news, cell phones forwards, myspace.. its been all over.

SOMEWHERE USA ... Another prime example of our judicial system gone wrong. I'm a 65 yr. old female and within the last 6 months I've taken up concealed weapons classes AND am now as good at hitting the ''TARGET'' as most people half my age. I will be getting my certificate for carrying a concealed weapon in April. GET IT ! God forbid if I am face to face with these thugs. Oh yes, one other thing I forgot to mention, I received my black belt last September. So, YOU, whomever you are, I might just be that person you try to attack. Yea, you all got it right. He is a threat to all females in the area. Thank god I moved from Salisbury, especially being I have a daughter close to Krista's age. I went to high school with him, and he tried several times to pick me up, thank god I did not allow myself to be alone with him. He tried to rape a friend of mine, and he use to physically beat on his girlfriend in school in front of everyone, and nobody did a damn thing. Remind you this was in high school. I heard of him sexually and physically abusing women many times, and this was years before he murdered that poor girl. He has the classic symptoms of a potential serial killer. He is going to do whatever to satisfy his needs, and then do whatever to keep from being caught. His father lives on West Rd. a few houses on the left hand side, as soon as you pass Booth st, the last I have known. His father use to be a sub teacher, not sure if he still is. We will be hearing about Jermaine soon, it is only a matter of time!
May the Lord keep us and protect us. I pray the Lord comfort the family of the young ladies this monster has hurt and for him to see the error of his ways. Lord, please lay a blanket of protection upon my daughter and all the women of Salsbury.
The criminal justice system is indeed blind. OUr current laws are not protecting us from these MONSTERS. The only real punishnment that is leived on these repeat criminals is done by accident. How is it possible to stand by and allow an individual like Wright back into our society, to live and breathe air after the hainess, violent crimes he has committed. He will never be able to contribute to our society in a positive, or productive manner. Wright obviously has no conscience, no values . He is a sacist who choses to direct his hate, anger and deadly agression for womrn in a a brutal way repeatedly and sitll allowed to enjoy freedom. The law that allows him to exit in our society needs to be changed. Hard labor and death are not punishment enough for him.
Give the guy a break, we all make mistakes......
