Does Mike Dunn Understand The Word ACCOUNTABILITY?

The Daily Slime got its chance to spin the, it's Lady Campbell and those mean bloggers fault that I won't seek re-election. Now it's mine...

I'll read between the lines for you on some interesting points in the article.
"Problem is, not everyone voted for us." Wasn't it the lowest voter turnout on record? I guess it can be difficult to get those renters out to vote.

Though he's never much cared for the label, Dunn was one of three new council members billed as the "Dream Team." He, Lynn Cathcart (who is also not running again) and Gary Comegys (who is) were recruited in 2003 to return civility and order to what had become a contentious chamber. Obviously the Slime's reporters have missed the gaveling down and flat out screaming at citizens from outraged council members. Excluding Mrs. Campbell.

With Campbell came a band of constituents and others that Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman has branded "The Dirty Dozen." Okay lets talk about this one. This article calls Von Siggers a "team critic." They print a nasty cartoon with Rachel Polk getting shot out of a cannon from a boat holding members of the "Dream Team." The council in emails labels concerned citizens, "Cave People." But, The blogs shouldn't be setting the tone for our community. It's got to be about goodness. Obviously the scheme team and the slime doesn't practice what they preach when they go after Mrs. Campbell, Tim Spies, Terry Cohen and myself without us being able to dispute what is said. Remember it's all about "goodness!"

"These people- the bloggers and people who hate to be disagreed with-have five ways to spread their mean-spirited messages to the public," he said. "They have the blogs, one of them has a radio show (insert Bill Reddish's name here, Bill you have arrived!), there's the Grapevine (in The Daily Times), they can submit letters to the newspaper (and have the editors rewrite them), and they get up and speak during council meetings that are aired on PAC 14 (where they will be screamed at and gaveled down).

"I had one goal and that was to settle things down," He's made a few mistakes. "I'll be the first to admit that." But overall, Dunn said he accomplished his mission. Part of that mission was to make a windfall off of the Sassafras Meadows property and receive Bank of Delmarva stock. You know, BPT's hubby is on the board. How odd!

"I have a beautiful wife, we have a beautiful home and I want to spend some time with her and travel." Now I can thanks to a padded bank account.

"We created the first ever capacity fee on water and sewer and took the city out of the developer reimbursement business." Insert, after Sassafras Meadows/Westwood and the Old Mall TIF and multiple other developer reimbursements.

The first development passed under the new policy will generate nearly $500,000 for the rehabilitation of existing neighborhoods, and another $300,000 will be dumped into a funding pool (aka the sludge pit) to enable some of the development's units to be sold for work force housing police officers and teachers, he said. Gee, one can only speculate how much more funding would be available if those previous projects (see above) were made to comply also.

Isabella Street: Solved, Dunn said. According to who? Lets allow all of our heavily trafficked streets to do the same, fair is fair.

"We will be putting fewer nutrients into our waterways than ever before," he said. Translation: Only because we were caught red handed dumping raw sewage into the Wicomico River from the Zoo and the WWTP. Thanks needs to go to those rotten bloggers!

Salisbury City Council battles used to make national headlines, but no longer, Dunn said. "We brought honor and respect back to that room." It helped that we don't allow C. Tilghman to be anywhere near council members so she doesn't acquire any more assault charges. That way Chief Webster doesn't have to lie under oath anymore about how he "didn't see a thing" while he's pulling the Mayor's daughter off of Rachel Polk. And please ignore how I use the gavel, I never got a toy hammer as a child and I'm making up for lost time.

"I made (Tilghman) a promise," he said. "I told her we would not challenge the administration's duties and responsibilities, and as a result we've forged a working relationship. And a financial one too.

"Much of the negativism that comes our way is because we decided to do business with the mayor," he said. Okay so he admits it here folks, it's all BPT's fault! Boy she must really be mad now, the rats are jumping ship. Lets see that in a political cartoon. After all it couldn't have anything to do with his own behavior.

I've never had any agenda, except to do what was best for the city of Salisbury." And maybe my bank account and some of my builder buddies.

Than he gets to me and says, He is now using his blog to spread hate against homosexuals. I'm wondering why that post struck the biggest nerve with Mikey. If he had children and was walking the plaza and saw what I saw, how would he explain it to them?

"He shows up at every meeting," Dunn said, "snapping shots of everybody, following the police chief around and putting it all on his Web site." Of course Mike would rather no one show up at meetings that way the Scheme Team could rob taxpayers blind. News flash Mike, I wasn't following the chief, he was following me. At least try and get your story straight. Remember it's all about "goodness."

"At least two candidates (Terry Cohen and Tim Spies) are notorious bloggers," he said. Now I would love to know exactly where he got that from. All this finger pointing is starting to sound a bit mean spirited. I guess the "goodness" was wearing thin by the end of the article.

"And you watch, mark my words, within a day or two of this story coming out I invite people to go to the blogs and read the hate." Since you've already read enough of my own here. By the way Mikey, Blogging is much quicker than a day or two. You must have been referring to the Slime?

I find it very interesting that the Slime found this to be front page news and such a big article. But I quickly figured things out when I looked at the back bottom of the last page of the article, under the weather and saw a half page ad for the new Bank of Delmarva that just opened. Must have cost them a pretty penny, or not.

In closing, I thank all you Bloggers. You have finally let taxpayers know elected officials can no longer rob taxpayers blind. This is by no means the ending for Mike Dunn. I believe the next headline news you'll see about Mike Dunn reference the charges the State of Maryland will be charging him with for his activities in Sasafras Meadows and his mysterious, out of nowhere announcement of his Stock in the Bank of Delmarva.

It was his own doings that brought Mike Dunn down, not the Blogs. We were simply the "ONLY" source of news that brought these things to a head and a perfect example is the Slime's propaganda piece in today's kitty litter box liner.

Mayor Martin and Chief Dykes are smiling down from the Heavens right now. The "Good Old Girl System" is being blown apart by their own doings. Who says you can't fight City Hall and win?

Give 'em hell Joe. People should be thankful to read a second or third opinion. The local paper is not always a good opinion.

Well said Joe. Now why couldn't the disgrace do the community a service and provide a full story with responses from those singled out? Would that have been too much work? Or does it not fit in with the story they are trying to portray?

I forget to add this little quote from the article: "The blogs have become sport for many of Salisbury's deep-seeded upper crust, Dunn said." Is he referring to the wealthy developers that have gotten even wealthier under their political association with the politicians in town? Are the wealthy the "sport" or are they the ones creating the sport? And how do they (Dunn and Tilghman) know anything about the blogs since they "never read them."

You know something Mike, if Gary Comegys came to "any" of the Zoo Commission Meetings he would realize that I attended all of those meetings as well. I wonder why he's on the Zoo Commission if he never attends the meetings?

That pesky Albero, he's just everywhere!
